Call for Entries—The Art Department at ENMU-R invites all visual artists to enter its third annual competitive art exhibition, which will be housed in the Student Services Center Lobby on the ENMU-R campus in Roswell, New Mexico. The theme of the exhibition—Boundary Crossing—explores the use of multiple art disciplines within one work of art. Eligibility—Any art work that can claim to fit into any two or more disciplines/utilize two or more media of art may be submitted (for example, a painting that is three dimensional in some way , a ceramic sculpture that has a drawn surface design, a print that has been manipulated by both manual and digital processes, a drawing which has some painted elements, a sculpture which includes collage elements, etc. )
Artists at any level of professional development may enter, including students, emerging artists, amateurs, professionals and established artists. Entries which exceed 30” X 36” X 36” cannot be accommodated. Any media, including traditional (pencil, charcoal, pastel, oil, acrylic, ceramic, photographic, etc.), mixed, innovative, experimental, digital or electronic may be used. Sorry, but kinetic works, fragile works, works that require complex installation procedures, unusual lighting or other complex exhibition conditions or electricity cannot be accommodated. Frames, mats, bases of sculptures, and other presentational aids may be included, but must fit into the dimensions mentioned above. Judges will determine work eligible for exhibition on or before the 10th of August, 2004. Judges for the initial screening will consist of a committee of art faculty members from ENMU-R. This year, the outside juror, who will determine awards, is Mic Muhlbauer, Professor of Painting at the main branch of ENMU at Portales, New Mexico. Ms. Muhlbauer is originally from Niagara Falls, New York. She received her M.F.A. degree in painting from Maryland Institute College of Art, and has exhibited widely throughout the United States. We are happy to welcome Ms. Muhlbauer as juror of our 2004 competitive exhibition.
