Panama City, FL,
USA United States of America
The Spotlight exhibition this month at isual Arts Center of Northwest Florida features works by Margaret Stone. Windows, doorways, ladders, or tunnels in some form, often very small, can be almost hidden within the painted image. Other times, glass can surround the work in a portal form. Through the use of acrylic painting and fusing glass, Margaret Stone is able to create dynamic works of art that transcend the traditional concept of both paintings and glass sculpture.
The purpose of the Visual Arts Center is to foster excellence, diversity and vitality of the visual arts, to broaden the availability and appreciation of such excellence, diversity, and vitality through education and exhibitions, and to serve as a source of information about the arts, activities and events in Northwest Florida. The Visual Arts Center shall serve the needs of and enhance opportunities for visual artists and assure them of an integral role in policy development and programming.
