Gallery 121 is excited to announce its inaugural opening with the exhibit “Nu-Nu”: Visions in Color and Space, at the Charles Street Meeting House on Monday, March 15th. Featuring the painting, sculpture and photography of three young artists, “Nu-Nu” explores bold new themes in identity and consciousness with an unjaded and playful eye. Together, the works of Shelby Hughes, Kristina Killar, and Anais Daly offer an inventive, colorful perspective on the subjective nature of personal experience.
Gallery 121 is committed to an elegant presentation of works while exploring the various themes of contemporary art. Keeping to esoteric individualism and the atmospheric experience, we are tied to the creative outlook of the 21st century. Future exhibitions will continue to examine these themes through the works of both new and established artists.
Shelby Hughes who’s recent “Magnetic Living” show in New York has earned her rave reviews and a rising recognition. Her works invoke the wild girl within, full of playful colors, and an unforgiving presence, she draws you into her magical world.
Kristina Killar creates a mysterious, heavenly cosmos of glass and wire creations. Using large scale photography she leads us through the dark beauty of her artistic expression.
Bright pastel colors and women in bikinis draw your eyes, where representational oil paintings by Anais Daly adorn the walls.
