Karrvaz Foundation calls for applications for the Artist in Residence Grants Program, for visual artists and creative people, at Jucar Gorges Rural Institute of Art, a polyvalent Art Center and International Artist Residence in Alcala del Jucar, Albacete, Spain.
Number of Grants: 2005 call (100 grants); 2006 call (170 grants).

Applicants: National and international. Compatible with other grants of different origin.
Venue: Júcar Gorges Rural Institute of Art.
Aim: To allow visual artists and creative people of any origin to work, live together and exchange experiences and interests in a natural venue of incomparable beauty, stimulating senses and spatial vision. To allow artists to work out of labor and family daily life pressure in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere enhancing creativity.
Applicants: Visual artists, painters, sculptors, drawers etc, professionals or amateurs, Art students, designers, writers, journalists TV and movies scenarists, directors etc, of any country, sending an accepted project to be developed at the Center and its surroundings, and wishing to live with artists and creative people, or wishing to enjoy oneself loneliness in a unique venue integrated in nature.
Time: Residence duration runs from 2 weeks to 6 months, depending on the project. Stay can be divided in several periods of time along 2005 and 2006.
Budget: 1000, 2000 and 3000 euros per grant. The amount can be increased or reduced depending on the duration of the stay and the number of companions.
Characteristics: The grant pays for up to 50% of the total cost of lodging and renting of workshops and installations. Under no reason the grant will be given directly to the applicant, it will be assigned directly to Júcar Gorges Rural Institute of Art.
Grant does not include meals, working materials or transport. The Center offers a complete kitchen.
Companions: Applicants may bring companions with them, exceptionally children above six years old will be admitted, as long as a different adult takes care of them. Companions will not be allowed to work at the workshops, except qualified professionals.
Requirements: Applicants must send a project detailing duration of the stay and preferred dates. Non visual artist must supply their own materials. They must respect general rules based on mutual respect towards other residents, installations and people living around.
