The 411 Galleries calls for all professional Irish artists to participate in the third annual 6X6 For Ireland small works exhibition of Irish Art. 6x6xTri SHOWCASE. 2005 in Hangzhou / Shanghai / Beijing. This years exhibition will visit 3 locations from September to November 2005. It will start in Hangzhou at the 411 Galleries,the home of the 6X6 show on September the 3rd. The exhibition will be opened by the Consul General of Ireland Mr. Nicholas O'Brien.
It will then visit Shanghai’s EASTLINK Gallery one of China’s premier modern art gallery’s on September the 23rd.The exhibition will be opened by the Consul General of Ireland Mr. Nicholas O'Brien.
Finally it visits the Gallery of the China Central Academy of Fine Art near Tiananmen Square in Central Beijing on November the 9th.The exhibition will be opened by His Excellency Mr. Declan Kelleher the Irish Ambassador to China.
This years theme is “ SHOWCASE ”, a show-case of Irelands visual art in all media. Only work of the highest standard will be accepted to this years exhibitions. All artists are expected to make work within the specified size restrictions.
All framing will be carried out by the 411 Galleries according to artists specifications.
The size restrictions remain the same, 6 inches x 6 inches flat or 3-D. All materials and media are acceptable including animation, painting, sculpture, printmaking,video , performance, computerwork (P.C. ONLY) and sound art.The emailing of high definition photographic work is permitted.All other work must be sent by post.ALL WORK MUST BE IN CHINA BY 20TH. OF AUGUST 2005.
All artists will have their work returned to them within 3 months of the end of the last exhibition.If your work needs to be returned earlier please specify during submission period.All artists will be sent a catalogue produced by the 411 GALLERIES with their returned work. If you require more than one catalogue please contact the Curator of the 411 GALLERIES.
All work should be sent to the 411 Gallery wrapped and waterproofed and protected. All artists are required to provide a return address ,email address and Artists statement. All Artists are expected to arrange for any insurance cover.The 411 Galleries accepts no responsibility for damage of artwork during transit.
