Frank Ettenberg, non-objective painter who has previously established a following in Santa Fe, New Mexico,
on July 7th, 2005 opened a solo exhibition of his latest Viennese paintings, monotypes and postcard paintings
at the Galerie Miro, in the Prague Castle area. The gala opening, hosted by gallery owner Miroslav Smolajk, also included a brief critical talk by Prof. Miroslav Klivar, PhD, and a prize was awarded to Ettenberg from Gerard Gratadour,
Vice President of the European Union Art Offices in Paris. The exhibition will run until August 7th.
Ettenberg also recently learned that the Chairman of Northwestern College's art department in St Paul,
arrived at his Santa Fe studio and selected an entire set of Postcard Paintings (Acrylic over a reproduction of
'Standing Fast', Acrylic on Canvas, ca 55 x 90 cm, 1996 -used in a 1996 Austria Tabakmuseum invitation) as well the
original painting behind the series. Prof. Brandon enthusiastically asserted that 'this sequence of work
provides a unique teaching tool for college-level art students.
