Showcase is a survey exhibition featuring emerging artists from across Central, Southern and Southwestern Ontario. Cambridge Galleries' curator Ivan Jurakic, in consultation with David Liss, Director and Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art in Toronto, have selected a group of 12 artists from a pool of 147 submissions. Showcase is intended as a "snapshot" capturing a variety of fresh and engaging work by talented artists in the early stages of their professional careers, and on the cusp of making a mark in the art world.
Works in the exhibition range from large scale photographs and drawings to paintings in a variety of media, video and sculptural works. Featuring work by Jaclyn Conley, Robyn Cumming, Phil Delisle,
Soheila Esfahani, Insoon Ha, Jason Hallows, Ayako Kurokawa,
Steven Laurie, Zeke Moores, Kristine Moran, Olexander Wlasenko
and Jinny M.J. Yu.
Cambridge Galleries exhibitions are free and open to the public.
Cambridge Galleries are supported by the membership, the City of Cambridge, the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council.
