The artist Hans Alexander Gerlanius exhibits 25 works of oil on canvas in a show entitled "Saknad/missing" at Grand Hotel Stockholm Sweden for the 4th time, in the Armory hall. This is a rare opportunity to see one of Sweden's most creative artist. Hans Alexander Gerlanius is one of the most innovative expressionists. Halfway through a life completely devoted to painting and creativity he has developed a personal, intimately self-revealing style. "I get my inspiration from explorative journeys in my inner self," the artist states.
His canvases with archtypical motifs and mythological symbols that symbolise what all of us have inside. Hans Alexander is certain the entire humanity is floating in and out of a bubble of collective consciusness where love and communication reigns. Gerlanius' pictures are multi facetted, he lets the viewer discover more and more. After a while one ralises that there is not one, but many stories going on in every painting. Every discovery feels like a reward, and this makes you prolong your visits in these inner landscapes. Represented at: The Swedish Government, local councils, hospitals, castles and many private collections.
In his youth Hans Alexander had five paintings hanging at the Louvre. Present art criticts gave their nod of appreciation before angered security people tore down four and half paintings the young artist had put up fifteen minutes earlier. Four and a half? "Yep, the last half hung in the men's room all day before the janitor threw it out."
