"I Gusti Ngurah Buda: Portal"
2005-11-04 until 2005-11-18
Sin Sin Fine Art
Hong Kong, , HK Hong Kong

On November 4, 2005 Indonesian Artist and 2004 Sovereign Asian Art Prize Finalist, I Gusti Ngurah Buda, will open an exhibition of works in a solo show at Sin Sin Fine Art in Hong Kong. The exhibition is entitled Portal. Buda's consistent geometric imagery represents doors, windows, roofs, and buildings, as well as the development of the modern city. Through his abstract paintings rich in primary and often strong contrasting colors, Buda tries to convey the message that nature is being fast destroyed and contaminated through the construction of buildings and urban sprawls.

The Hindu principle of harmony is reflected throughout Buda‚s works in style and composition. Hinduism advocates harmonious relationships between human beings and the environment; human beings with God; and between fellow human beings. It is Buda‚s belief that nature can be preserved if this principle of harmony can be put into practice.

Sin Sin Fine Art is the only gallery in Hong Kong that exhibits Indonesian modern contemporary art.
