Public Art 4 Culture
Seattle, WA,
USA United States
Public Art 4Culture seeks an artist to create a permanent work to help reconnect the Roosevelt and Green Lake neighborhoods in Seattle, Washington via an I-5 underpass corridor lined with 22 columns over 20 feet high, amidst acres of concrete columns. The NE 65th Street Connection is the next step in reclaiming the 10-acre underpass site into an art corridor that re-unites the Roosevelt and Green Lake communities that were divided by the construction of I-5 in the early 60s. The finalist artists will create on-site temporary installations of their proposal ideas as part of the selection process. This artist opportunity is open to artists in Washington and Oregon States, and the greater Vancouver B.C. area. The design and implementation budget is $300,000.
