On Thursday February 9th, at the Lab Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of Rome will be presented the new group exhibition of Art videos entitled "Give Me Two Times". It will be a chance to present ten video artists to the wide audience. All the remarkable artists in exhibition have participated in many solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. The show features work by Giorgia Accorsi, Marco Amorini, Ivan Barlafante, Elastic Group of Artistic Research, Marina Ferratto, Richard Journo, César Meneghetti, Claudia Quintieri, and Lino Strangis; curated by Giorgia Calò.
In display in the Museum exhibition rooms video works, photos, installations and performances will show a diverse range of artists‚ works fascinated by the definition of time inside and outside the way we live the metropolis, inside and outside the perception of our human body.
An objective sense of time lost in our subjective perception of life in contemporary society, made of duties and tasks. The uses of pull out zooms, slow motion and speed up sequences give to the video art form a leading role to represent our sense of time. The same media that has a leading role in contemporary mass communication, the same media that is not able to give an accurate sense of continuity in space, loses even its sense of continuity in time.
The exhibition is part of the on going programme made by Domenico Scudero for the Lab Museum: "New Multimedia Technology Application in Contemporary Art", directed by Simonetta Lux.
