ACA Gallery in Toronto presents a Group Exhibition during the last half of March, 2006 entitled "Landscapes and Timescapes". ACA Gallery was founded in June 2004 by Carol Mark to create an incubator for art and social change. A percentage of art sales are donated to grassroots humanitarian aid projects that ACA Gallery partners on a local and global basis. ACA Gallery - the best kept secret in Toronto and the world on how art can change the world. Work by internationally renouned artist Eve Lewaren will be part of this exhibition.
"My work is predominantly about our relationship with life in its essential, elemental form...light, color and space...and the imaginary world beyond the grossly material," comments Lewarne.
"I paint energetically and intuitively, to avoid thinking until a piece feels finished. Then I look to see what is there, as surprised as anyone else. Light can only be seen when viewed against a background of rich and dark hues. I want to capture intense light, both as an abstract concept and intertwined with our lives," the artist continues.
Eve Lewaren was born in Poland, and nows lives on Toronto. She attended Ontario College of Art and Design. Her work has been shown around the world from Tokyo to New York to Paris.
Lewaren, one of the founding members, has promoted her art with a Premiere Portfolio at absoltuearts.com since 2000. View more of her work at: http://www.absolutearts.com/elewarne/.
