The world’s leading magazine for artists is looking for works of art from the very best in the art world. Artists of all skill levels and mediums are invited to enter The Artist’s Magazine’s 23rd Annual Art Competition for the chance to win cash prizes and gain national exposure for their work. More than $25,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in all. Entrants can compete and win in five categories: Portrait & Figure—juried by Pastel Society of America Hall of Fame member Everett Raymond Kinstler; Still Life—juried by award-winning artist Jane Jones; Landscape—juried by Arts for the Parks Grand Prize recipient Dean Mitchell; Experimental—juried by nationally acclaimed artist H.C. Dodd and Animal Art—juried by 2004 Master Wildlife Artist Award winner Chris Bacon.
Five first place winners will receive $2,500 cash, five second place winners will receive $1,250 cash, and five third place winners will receive $750 cash. There will be 15 $100 cash honorable mention winners, and all award winners and honorable mentions will receive a 1-year subscription to The Artist’s Magazine.
Plus, 13 finalists will be featured in The Artist’s Magazine’s 2007 calendar, 10 finalists will be featured in the “Competition Spotlight” issue of the magazine, 12 finalists will be featured as “Artist of the Month” on the Web site and all winners and finalists will receive a certificate suitable for framing.
There is also a Student/Beginner division for artists age 16 or over or who have been painting for two years or less. In this division, there will be five first, second and third place awards at $150, $75 and $50. All award winners in the Student/Beginner division will be featured in the January 2007 issue of The Artist’s Magazine.
The competition is open to artists anywhere in the world, and only original artwork conceived and created by the entrant will be considered.
