BLACK USA is an art exhibition celebrating past, present and future life of Black people in the USA. Commemorating Black History Month, New Orleans Mardi Gras and life in general the show is one view at the Gloria Kennedy Gallery in Brooklyn. Ione Citrin, Deborah DeGraffenreid, Diane C. Duvall, Lou Grant, Leon Nicholas Kalas, Harry Longstreet, Gloria Kennedy and Jeanmarie Theobalds. BLACK USA is on view February 1 – March 17, 2007 wth an opening on February 8 from 6-9pm. Located in the DUMBO gallery area of Brooklyn, New York, the Gloria Kennedy Gallery presents diverse and spectacular visual exhibitions of contemporary art that define the art space in a new vernacular. The Gallery represents emerging and known artists and provides the art community a superlative mixture of collectible art. All visual arts are exhibited with a focus on three dimensional masterworks.
Ione is an avant garde artist whose artistic expression takes fantastic shape through her diverse oil and watercolor paintings, bronze sculptures, found object collages and mixed media assemblages. Her paintings and sculptures range from abstract to realistic to impressionistic - all visionary interpretations from her imaginative soul.

Being an Artist is a life force, not a career choice. Each piece represents a fragment of my life's work. I present the world artistically as I see it, as I wish to see it, and occasionally as I once saw it. You see, It is my identity. Without this expression of self, I am nothing. Through my art I give love."
Ione uses only one name but a variety of styles to soothe her wild imagination. A native of Chicago, she is a former television star and commercial voice-over artist. Now she wins awards and sells her creativity through her hands instead of through her larynx. Her art is as original as she is - bold, colorful and highly decorative.
