"The Border: Michele D'Alterio and Zoran Poposki"
2007-04-14 until 2007-04-29
Il Ramo d'Oro
The April exhibition, The Border, works by Michele D'Alterio and Zoran Poposki, at Il Ramo d'Oro in Naples involves two young artists living on both sides of the border of the fortress of Europe. Human identity, fate, metaphysic, self presentation and work are the object of this facing. Macedonian artist, Zoran Poposki, and an Italian artist, Michele D'Alterio are both protangonists of this European "Border". Il Ramo d'Oro promotes their gallery artists with a Gallery Portfolio at absoltuearts.com.
Michele D'Alterio explores an internal spaces apparently realistic but far away from the visible surface and placed in an oneiric and surreal dimension.
Zoran Poposki's digital prints explore the hidden interconnections between the visual and the written word. Or more specifically, how pictures and narratives are intertwined in the attempt to tell our personal histories, but at the same time they subvert each other, their union sometimes producing unexpected (even ironic) results.
The physical border become soon an internal border and a question of identity.
