The award-winning television series Art:21-Art in the Twenty-First Century is back this October with an all-new season on PBS. Season 4 of the biennial series will once again give viewers a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of contemporary art and into the minds of some of today's most fascinating visual artists. Shattering common misconceptions about contemporary art, this unique four-part series will introduce audiences to 17 distinctly different artists working in America and often abroad. Visiting them in their homes, studios, and communities, the series provides an unfiltered view of today's most notable contemporary artists and reveals them to be articulate, thoughtful, and hard-working people who are both accessible and direct.
Season 4 of Art:21-Art in the Twenty-First Century will premiere October 28 on PBS at 10:00pm ET (check local listings). Produced by the pioneering contemporary art institution Art21, Season 4 will profile both well-known and up-and-coming artists, including among others:
Jenny Holtzer;
Mark Dion;
Nancy Spero;
Robert Ryman;
Laurie Simmons; and
Mark Bradford.
