avenues of recognition for contemporary artists who are pursuing a path of artistic skill
and excellence in the area of traditional representational art.
The museum provides the award money, while the exhibit is juried by
Greenhouse Gallery, one of America’s most respected fine art galleries, representing
more than 30 nationally and internationally recognized artists.
The museum was founded in 2001 by the owners of Greenhouse Gallery, Jim Janes and
Mark Smith, to be a support system for traditional, representational artists and the retail
galleries that represent them. The museum has been awarded 501c3 non-profit status.
