The City of Vaughan is pleased to host its second annual juried art exhibition featuring works by selected Vaughan and Greater Toronto Area artists from April 24 through May 25, 2008. Work from this year's exhibition may also be chosen for later installation in a designated civic space as part of the “Art Integration Program” and future municipal art collection. Included in the exhibition is Jean Marie Bowcott's work from her Celtic Series. Jean Marie Bowcott has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2004.
Jean Marie Bowcott states about her work, "or many years my work has been commercial. Taking on various assignments. Designing Jewellery Collections For Museums and other Foundations, My products include Textiles, Sculpture, Paper Products. between assignments I painted and sculpted and completed many Portraits and Corporate Commissions.
As a Multidisciplined Artist/designer I accepted and enjoyed the challenge of creating something new for my clients.
"My interest in Archaeology, and Metaphysics and Meditation led to travelling to Egypt with The Edgar Cayce Foundation.It was an inspiring Trip and has contributed greatly to my current works. World Cultures continue to intrigue me and strongly influence my work as did living abroad for four and a half years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
My current interests include creating Celtic Works using Gold leaf and Ancient Symbols and Sacred Geometry (Abstract Hard edge). These works will be released next year 2008/2009 in Ireland and Dubai, UAE."
