Renowned, award-winning photographers Bobbi Lane and
Tony Sweet will serve as instructors at the Sundance Photographic Workshops,
August 25-29, 2008, at the Sundance Resort, Utah.
World-class commercial photographer Bobbi Lane specializes in creative
portraits on location and in the studio. Her course, “Portraits on
Location,” provides an opportunity for students to explore the diverse
elements of successful portraiture—working with natural light and strobes,
studio or portable flash, and photographing models using locations for
composition and story-telling.
Lighting is crucial to a successful photo and
she will cover lighting patterns, quality and lighting ratios. Ms. Lane’s
website is www.bobbilane.com.
Jazz performer turned world famous nature photographer Tony Sweet, conducts
a workshop entitled “Exploring Your Personal Vision.” The class meets daily
for a sunrise photo shoot (weather permitting) followed by a session to
process and critique images. The improvisational, spontaneous and abstract
nature of jazz, are also integral elements of nature photography. The day
will end with a late afternoon/sunset shooting session. Class time will
include a presentation, critique session and a review of digital workflow
information. Read more about Mr. Sweet at www.tonysweet.com
About Sundance Photographic Workshops
The Sundance Photographic Workshops are held at the Sundance Resort, the
artistic, cultural and recreational community founded in 1969 by actor
Robert Redford. The resort was recently voted #2 in the top 50 Mainland U.S.
resorts by Condé Nast Traveler—and #1 among mountain resorts. It also served
as the original home for the renowned Sundance Film Festival before its
growing fame dictated its relocation to nearby Park City.
Nestled discreetly in the foothills of Mt. Timpanogos, the Sundance Resort
is crafted to preserve the area’s breathtaking, rich environment, while
providing world-class accommodations for Workshop participants.
The resort’s relaxing, picturesque setting offers the ideal—as well as
inspirational—backdrop for the Sundance Photographic Workshops. Classes are
held in Sundance’s spacious function suites, as well as in field excursions
to capture outdoor, environmental portrait and once in a lifetime
photographic opportunities. Small class sizes enable numerous opportunities
for one-on-one instruction and daily courses are complemented with
after-dinner presentations of instructor and student photo portfolios.
The all-inclusive fee includes comfortable lodging in private mountainside
cottages, as well as a complete meal plan that includes gourmet dining in
The Tree Room, recipient of the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond award and the
Wine Spectator award.
