The "Under A Grand" exhibition at First Street Gallery in New York is a coined phrase by the gallery artist where all the work on exhibition will be priced less than $1000. On display will be the work of gallery artists Nancy Balliett, Sallie Benton, Bryan Collins, Suzi Evalenko, Hank Feeley, Wendy Gittler, Mark Gotbaum, Tim Kennedy, Sung Soo Kim, Penny Kronengold, Michele Liebler, Mari Lyons, Rallou Malliarakis, Marianne Perry Salas, Lisa Zwerling. First Street Gallery promotes their artists with a Gallery Portfolio at absolutearts.com.

First Street Gallery accepts submissions from artists for review. Applications are reviewed at membership meetings every 4-6 weeks. To apply artists must bring four to six original works of art to the gallery at 5:45 p.m. on the day of the meeting. This may be supplemented by slides, resume, and reviews. The submitted work should be removed from the gallery the same evening at 7:30-8:00 p.m. Where it is not possible for the artist to bring original works, slides and other materials may be sent in advance of the meeting for an initial review. Materials sent by mail should be accompanied by a SASE for their return. Results of the vote are mailed out within a week. Meetings are usually held on Fridays and the date of the next meeting can be obtained by contacting the gallery during its normal hours, Tuesday through Saturday between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm (646-336-8053).

First Street Gallery Inc. is a NY State registered nonprofit corporation exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions to First Street Gallery Inc. are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. A copy of the latest annual report may be obtained upon request, from the gallery or from the Office of the Attorney General, Charities Bureau, 120 Broadway, New York, NY 10271.
