From February 6 through the 28, 2010, The Big Top Gallery will be exhibiting "The Thoughts Series" of Brooklyn inspired/Atlanta resident artist, D. Lammie-Hanson. This will be the first time that "The Thoughts Series\" will be exhibited as a whole. The theme was inspired by the idea that thoughts and feelings should be exposed outside the body instigating honest dialogue. The series actually were the personal pieces of the artist herself. D. Lammie-Hanson has been a Premiere Portfolio Member at absolutearts.com since 2001.
This group of paintings are a perfect fit for the town and Mardi Gras Season. It's whimsical playfulness and deeply rooted thoughts and feelings represent depth. This series consists of half green recycled materials like tarp, tin plates and wooden and paper boards.
Lammie believes that the true beauty of the human being is the internal markup of the individual. In most cases, she replaces the hair with flowing colors and movement representing the exposed internal mechanics of the psyche.
The majority of her subjects in the work are mostly female but the message is clearly crossing genders and is not age specific.
In this show she utilizes found and recycled items like wooden boards, tin plates, paper boards as well as bigger paintings on tarp and vinyl.
