Exhibition celebrating 50 years of White's multidisciplinary art in a unique survey of her prints 1960–2010, from Friday 12 November to Monday 20 December 2010. Fyre Gallery is very proud to have been chosen to present the first survey show of Susan Dorothea White’s prints spanning 50 years of her artistic career. White’s splendid and sometimes confronting works show her mastery of drawing and technical printmaking skills. Susan Dorothea White has been a Premiere Portfolio Member at absolutearts.com since 2001.
When asked what has sustained her art-making for more than 50 years, outstanding Australian artist Susan Dorothea White said “My work is inspired by my passion for human rights issues, the environment, and by my love of family, art, and music... personal experience also fuels my creativity”.
Better known in recent decades for her sculpture and painting, White’s 2010 prints created especially for this show demonstrate her unique blend of creativity and consciousness. After five decades she has lost none of her edge while continuing to proclaim her love of life and her desire to share her passion through her art.
Gallery Director, Cheryl Hannah, invites you to come and enjoy this rare opportunity to see the life journey of an artist as it has unfolded since White began in 1960 and continues strongly into 2010 and beyond.
