Bradley Symphonic Band and Symphonic
Winds in concert November 11
Peoria, IL
(October 30, 2012) The Bradley Symphonic Band and the Bradley Symphonic Winds,
led by Dr. David Vroman, will present Music Scholarship Concert Series (MSCS)
concert on Sunday, November 11, at 3 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located
at 1417 W. Barker Avenue.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for students. Tickets are available at the door or in
advance by calling 309-677-2650.
The 85-member
Symphonic Band will perform Italian
Holiday by Robert Longfield, Nevermore
by Brian Balmages, and Novo Lenio by
Samuel Hazo. The Symphonic Winds will perform works by Morton Gould including
his famous American Salute. Also included will be American Hero by Bruce Boughton and two
movements from Robert W. Smith’s work based on Dantes Divine Comedy. A patriotic salute will be given to the
men and women of our armed forces.
The concert band
program at Bradley involves more than 150 students who represent nearly every
major on campus. Each band
performs 3 to 5 times a semester. Proceeds
from MSCS performances support scholarships for Bradley music students.
