Due to the disruption of Hurricane Sandy,  the “Home” Exhibition has been rescheduled to March 7th from it’s original date of December 6th. The “Home” Exhibition is a collaboration between Ground Arts and Art Start. The mission is to encourage dialogue between the creative works of Art Start students and established artists.  The purpose of the "Home" exhibition is to raise money to help Art Start open an artistic workspace in the West Chelsea Building in Chelsea for their students.  Everyday in NYC, over 17, 000 children spend the night in homeless shelters. During Hurricane Sandy, many of these children were evacuated from their "home" - shelters in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The following snow storm delayed them from getting back into the shelter, and therefore all of Art Start's workshops and daily activities were put on hold.  Our collaborating organization, Art Start,  has worked for 21 years with these kids and helped them move toward creating a better life through creative expression.  As a result, it is our pleasure to support Art Start's efforts. Ground Arts now hopes to help provide the Art Start family with an art space in Chelsea where they can engage in their art, evolution and integrate with NYC's vast artists community. We are encouraging artists to interpret and create a piece of artwork that is inspired by their concept of "Home", to be included in the exhibition.    If you are an artists and would like to contribute a work to the show...... We are also seeking show sponsors and creative/stategic partnerships with companies or individuals.  We are for instance looking for a soft drink or water sponsor for refreshments or for items to include in a gift bag for project supporters.
