ZHENG XUEWU: A Survey

Beijing based artist Zheng Xuewu’s third solo exhibition at the gallery surveys his signature works on paper made between 1997 and 2012. On a single work’s surface, Zheng orchestrates hundreds of individual prints using woodblocks he has carved, cast metal printing type, stamps and other found objects. The depicted alphabets, text, numbers, figures from folklore and abstract shapes begin investigations of the enigma of culture.
