RAVE REVIEW FOR THE METRO SHOW FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES
"Don’t be fooled by the name," writes Ken Johnson at The New York Times, "The METRO Show, the art and antiques fair going on this week at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, is not a display of sophisticated urbanity. A two-year-old reincarnation of the event formerly known as the American Antiques Show, it does feature 34 dealers trafficking in an extraordinarily wide range of materials, from ancient Andean textiles at William Siegal’s booth to a wooden model of a French World War II fighter plane created for wind tunnel testing, which is at Bernard Goldberg." For more on the "heart and soul" of the METRO Show, as well as the E|AB Fair, read the complete review at the New York Times
The METRO Show and E|AB Fair are open through Sunday, January 27. General admission is $15 for a one-day pass, or $35 for a multi-day pass, good for the entire fair.

The son of an African American Baptist minister who was run out of town by the Ku Klux Klan and never to be seen again, and a deeply religious and supportive mother, James W. Washington, Jr. (1909-2000) knew from an early age that he had something unique within him—that his abilities and imagination would manifest and take him away from the segregated and oppressive environs of Gloster, Mississippi.
