LMCC is pleased to announce four (4) distinct opportunities for Professional Development for Artists offered in 2013. LMCC's programs are free, and focus on workshops and training on timely issues in the areas of business proficiency,
artistic practice, and community engagement. We invite New York City artists across disciplines to join us for learning and dialogue, and to create robust and expanded networks.

March–April
Marketing and Communications for Artists is a three-part workshop series that offers practical knowledge for artists and small arts organizations who wish to develop improved communication strategies and
expand or deepen their relationship with audiences. Covered topics include: developing an online presence, social media, and press and media relations.
Workshops are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is available for the full series and for each workshop.

Basic Finance for Artists (BFA) is an intensive six-week seminar on personal finance that offers 20 artists comprehensive training in financial management through a unique combination of seminar-style learning
and hands-on group and individual exercises.
Due to high demand, space is limited and eligible participants will be selected through a lottery process.

Fundraising Fundamentals is a six-part series that features LMCC's core fundraising curriculum, to help artists develop skills in raising the resources to support their practice. Covered topics include: the
funding ecosystem, writing strong grant proposals, budgeting, preparing work samples, and cultivating individual donors.
Workshops are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration is available for the full series and for each workshop.

Artists Summer Institute (ASI) is a five-day intensive professional development opportunity for artists. The program brings together the best of LMCC and Creative Capital programs to provide arts-focused
professional training, tools, and advice that help put artists on a path to greater sustainability and self-sufficiency.

News: LMCC and Assets for Artists
This year, LMCC is partnering with
ArtHome, a nonprofit organization with a mission to help artists build assets and equity, to provide BFA and ASI artist alumni with access to the
Assets for Artists matched savings program, which allows low-income artists to accumulate working capital to invest in their creative businesses through a combination of savings and matching funds.

LMCC's Arts Services Programs are supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Charina Endowment Fund, F.B. Heron Foundation, Joan Mitchell Foundation, Lambent Foundation, and Mertz Gilmore Foundation.
LMCC's Arts Services Programs are also supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor
Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
Artists Summer Institute is made possible with support from the New York City Economic Development Corporation's Artist as Entrepreneur Program and, in part, by Creative Capital's Workshop Subsidy Program, underwritten by the Kresge
Foundation.
