RESIDENCIES OPEN STUDIO WEEKEND
 
 
FRIDAY 22 MARCH, 5.30-9pm & SATURDAY 23 MARCH, 12-6pm

Residency artists Alexandra Ferreira & Bettina Wind (Portugal / Germany), Cristiano Lenhardt (Brazil) and Sahej Rahal (India) conclude their residencies by opening their studios to the public, giving visitors a unique opportunity to meet with them and explore the work they have produced during their time in London.

Our current exhibition The Black Cave by Beatriz Santiago Muñoz is also on show throughout the weekend.
 
 
PERFORMANCE: BHRAMANA III
FRIDAY 22 MARCH: 5.30-6.30pm (Starts and ends at Gasworks)

Sahej Rahal presents the third manifestation of his live, shamanistic Bhramana series of performances, inspired by the research he has conducted during his residency. Starting out at Gasworks and navigating to nearby Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, the performance feature sculptures made out of discarded materials the artist has sourced from across the city.
 
 
OPEN STUDIO TOUR
FRIDAY 22 MARCH, 7.30pm
 
Residencies Programmer Rowan Geddis leads an informal tour of the residency artists' studios, introducing the projects developed during the artists' time at Gasworks.
 
 
EVENT: REFRAINING // IMPROVISAÇÕES SOB(RE) EXÍLIO
SATURDAY 23 MARCH, 4-5pm
 
Alexandra Ferreira and Bettina Wind present an audio-visual event that animates their research on Brazilian musicians Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso.

El Puente (Amílcar Tirado, Puerto Rico, 1954, 50 min) portrays a rural community in Puerto Rico struggling to cope with the devastation of an overflowing river which threatens to derail their children’s schooling.
