On the heels of its critically lauded runs in Los Angeles and New York (where it showed at the Whitney
Museum of American Art through Sunday), Blues for Smoke will make its Midwest debut this fall at the Wexner Center September
21–December 29, 2013. An interdisciplinary exhibition exploring contemporary art through the lens of the blues and “blues aesthetics,” Blues for Smoke features
works from more than 40 artists from the 1950s to the present, including Roy DeCarava, William Eggleston, Zoe Leonard,
Kerry James Marshall, and Lorna Simpson; as well as materials from music and popular entertainment by artists as wide-ranging as Azealia Banks and Duke Ellington to Minor Threat and Sun Ra.
