CALL FOR ARTISTS: EQUITY FOR ALL ARTISTS.
Los Angeles Art Association and The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation are proud to announce: Equity for All Artists, a very special exhibition featuring the work of artists challenged with paralysis and spinal cord injury at Los Angeles Art Association's prestigious Gallery 825. 

Competition is open to all California artists with paralysis and spinal cord injury.

**Deadline for Submissions is Thursday, July 18 by 5pm**

 

Eligibility: Competition is open to all California artists with paralysis and spinal cord injury.  Entries must be recent work, created within the last three years.      

SHOW DATES: August 17- 27, 2013

RECEPTION: Saturday, August 17, 6-9pm

LOCATION: Gallery 825 - 825 N. La Cienega Blvd. Los Angeles 90069

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE/NON-ACCEPTANCE: via email by 5pm Thurs., July 25  
DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK: August 13 and 14, 10am-5pm

PICK-UP OF UNSOLD WORK: Wednesday, August 28, 10am-5pm 

 

Media: All media. No craft or functional art. For video: please send DVD. Accepted video artists must provide their own equipment--monitors, projectors.

Entry: UP TO FIVE ENTRIES PERMITTED PER ARTIST.

Juror will review only digital images of artwork on CD. NO ACTUAL ARTWORK WILL BE REVIEWED BY THE JUROR prior to selection process. Entries must be submitted on CD in jpg format - 300 dpi. NO FILES SHOULD BE LARGER THAN 1MB. IMPORTANT - DIGITAL IMAGES MUST BE NAMED AS FOLLOWS: Please name each image with your last name followed by title. For example: Smithson.bird.jpg, Smithson.landscape.jpg, etc. Information for each piece must include artist name, contact information, title, date, price, medium and dimensions. This information must be listed and saved as a Word or PDF document onto the CD. Improperly labeled entries may be rejected. LAAA is not responsible for lost or damaged entries. Do not send resumes, bios or artist statements. All entries become property of LAAA. No entry materials will be returned. Submitted images of accepted work may be used by LAAA for press and promotional materials. ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE: 5PM THURSDAY, JULY 18.

 

Delivery of accepted work: DELIVERY DATE OF ACCEPTED WORK: Tuesday, August 13th or Wednesday, August 14th, 10a-5p. All other arrangements must be made in advance and approved by the gallery. All work must be properly framed and ready to hang - no saw tooth or clip on hangers - no exceptions. If works required specific hardware, it must be provided when work is delivered. No two dimensional work shall exceed 6' vertical and 6' horizontal, or weigh over 60 lbs. At the juror's discretion, work that is dirty, in disrepair or otherwise deemed unfit for display may be excluded from the show. Decisions of the juror are final. Work must be unwrapped upon delivery - LAAA will not store any packing materials.
     
Sales: ALL art sales from this exhibition will go to physically disabled artists, strengthening their efforts toward self-sufficiency.

Submission Fee: None.
 
Liability: LAAA, and its staff, Board, The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation or anyone connected to the exhibition will not be responsible for loss, damage, breakage or theft of artwork while at the gallery. Your entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with these terms and conditions as set forth above.
