MEN per EX LATI: EXPERIMENTAL

The first of our new monthly series at Brunswick Street Gallery, Men per Ex Lati: Experimental is presenting the work of Joseph Burgess (Australian Mega Fauna Project), David Hocking with Jordan Scotney (Life on the Rocks), and Jamie Lim (Interactive audio-visual mosaic).

A platform venue for artists working with experimental film, video art, sound art, and projection based work - Men per Ex Lati: Experimental will engage eclecticism, bringing together various artists whose work will be distributed in our gallery spaces, existing simultaneously throughout the night's event.

Start time of 6:30pm,

Live performance 7:30pm (Jordan Scotney)

LIve sound set 9:30pm (Jamie Lim and Joseph Burgess)

Simultaneous viewings on till 10:00 (and the bar will be open of course!)

Currently Brunswick Street Gallery is accepting applications for our annual open-applicant photographic show Click. The show opens on the 30th of August and runs until the 12th of September. All entrants will be exhibited. There is an entrance fee of $25 per artwork and a size limit of 80 x 80cm. The gallery will follow the tradition of a salon hang.

This show is for all photographers; no matter how much experience you may or may not have. The aim is to showcase photographic creativity, so be brave - this is your chance to exhibit at an established gallery, cost-efficiently and join fellow photographers in this fun and lively event.

OPEN CALL FOR 2014 APPLICATIONS

Brunswick Street Gallery is now accepting applications for 2014! (Deadline: August 30 2013). With multiple gallery spaces, we have a variety of approaches for our curatorial platform. Offering space for emerging art practice, BSG engages with contemporary theoretical approach. Exhibitions happen on a 2 week schedule, with all scheduled exhibitions opening simultaneously on Friday nights.

ARTISTS

Please send your
C.V, up to 10 images, artist statement (pertaining to both practice and specific work intending to exhibit - no more than 1000 words) to miriam@bsgart.com.au. Specify medium from the following suggested options: painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, film/video works, mixed/new media (if other please specify)

CURATORS

For the first time BSG is extending a platform for emerging curatorial practice. Please send your exhibition or project outline explaining the purpose and concept (600 -1000 words maximum, List of artists and a succinct description of their practice (100 words maximum) to miriam@bsgart.com.au. Images of approximately 40% of the artworks proposed for the exhibition - or if the work isn't made yet, links to the artist(s) portfolio/website, or images of current work. Specify medium from the following suggested options: painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, film/video works, mixed/new media (if other please specify)
