The Arlington Museum of Art is proud to present our continuing celebration of the Harlem Renaissance by inviting you to join us for our tribute to The Apollo Theater.
This historic venue, located in Harlem, was a hotbed for young performers getting their start in show business during the Harlem Renaissance. Greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, James Brown & The Famous Flames, The Jackson 5, and the Isley Brothers all got their start at the Apollo.
In line with the actual Apollo Theater, the Arlington Museum of Art will be hosting our own Amateur Night, featuring amateur acts from the area. And as with the original, audience participation decides the winner.
Cash prizes will be given to the winners: $1000 for 1st Place,
$500 for 2nd Place, $250 for 3rd Place
Ticket Price: $20
Ticket price includes admission to the Museum
