Healthy in the HeART of Delaware

Healthy in the HeART of Delaware is an event, in partnership with Kent Kids, that promotes healthy lifestyles and art education. Activities will include drawing a healthy choice and constructing a duct tape frame for the artwork, tours of the Biggs Museum, playing hopscotch or 4 square, jumping rope to music, listening to a story and moving with the words, a performance by break dancers and singers from Lake Forest school district.

Creation of Subtractive Monotype with Gabriel Jules Jules Gabriel

$15 per person

During a workshop with artist Gabriel Jules, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the process of monoprinting while creating a subtractive monotype. While Currier & Ives successfully utilized the process of lithography to produce thousands of prints over the course of seven decades, many printmakers found other methods more appealing.  Monoprinting, also known as the most painterly method among the printmaking techniques, is essentially a printed painting. The Joshua M. Freeman Foundation Annual Arts and Jazz Festival 
September 14

 

Last year, the arts and jazz festival saw almost 1,400 patrons throughout the day. Arts booths need to be open and ready from 10 am to 6 pm on Sept. 14th. There will be a  kids art area, face painting and concessions will be available as well. Artists will need to bring their own tents, tables, chairs, etc.  Freeman Foundation will make electricity available to artists who need it in order to make or produce their art. Artists may sell their artwork that day and there is no percentage on sales taken by the Freeman Foundation or the Freeman Stage. There is no fee whatsoever to the artists for their location at the Arts and Jazz festival. There will be a great deal of marketing done to promote the event.
