Cheryl Carr - I found painting at a later time in life than most. I have always been creative. Sketching was a favorite of mine. I started taking classes in oil painting in 2023. My instructor was amazing. I quickly moved on to find my passion for photo-realism. Portraits are a favorite of mine. I absolutely love recreating a photo in oil . I look for photos that speak to me. My greatest joy is in seeing the faces of people for whom I have created paintings. Their excitement is amazing to me I hope that you enjoy my paintings as much as I have enjoyed creating them....

Michael Garr - I have been drawing and painting since Junior High. I enjoy quick art, impressionistic yet realistic, and minimal. There are interesting subjects all around us. My inspirations are architecture, people, light and shadow, the sea and boats, imagination... and the old masters. Get out and enjoy your surroundings. All my works are available as signed and numbered prints. I also do commission works, some examples of which are in the portfolio. I donate all proceeds to charity, and have recently teamed with SAVE THE BAY, a local Rhode Island eco-advocate organization, which receives 30 PER CENT of my proceeds. My opportunities for artistic expression have included drawing on napkins during airplane rides and waiting during my sons music lessons. In 2012 I took up oil painting for the first time, and my mentor is Lorena Pugh of North Kingstown. Ive done both Plein air and studio work in her presence, and am benefitting from the association. We have an informal group who meet and paint in Lorenas studio on Monday nights throughout the indoor season. Lora Vannoord - I am an artist originally from a small town in Michigan, where I started painting oil paintings while preparing for my retirement. I took online classes, found a wonderful art group in Grand Rapids, Michigan, exhibited my original paintings and sold my first oil painting. After retirement I moved to Florida. I started painting right away. The birds and trees that were all new to me. It was wonderful. I soon found more art classes and 3 art groups to join. Soon I had my original oil paintings in almost every gallery and local small businesses I could find that would show art for me and my groups Now I have moved to Frederick MD. A wonderful area of friendly people and lots of art happenings I am setting up my newest little studio to paint more and enjoy the joy of painting I try to communicate my love of nature to help others see and appreciate the natural environment around them. Terri Higgins - Kichung Lizee - After coming to this country from Korea in the mid 60's to study art, among the many forms of Western art that I was introduced to, Abstract Expressionism interested me most. Currently I am in the process of synthesizing Eastern and Western approaches to art. Specifically, I'm adopting the techniques and materials of Eastern calligraphy to Western thematic material, my primary goal being to close the gap between East and West and reach for universal creativity. James Johnson - The basis of my work is the exploration of universal patterns of being common to everyone such as shadow, hero, or trickster. My interest in patterns of being is a fascination that we all share common behaviors or emotions that can be understood singularly. Each pattern of being may be expressed as a figurative sculpture of hand cast aluminum alloy at half-life scale. Patterns of being may be referenced with Jungian archetypes.
