Jerry Di Falco - Photography inspires my art and acts as a vital element in my etchings. The images I employ originate from my own photographs, as well as from the images I find from my research into the digital archives of universities, historical societies, libraries, and museums. Upon locating a documented scene I wish to etch, my first step involves the execution of two to five original drawings of the photograph. My collaboration between photography and printmaking allows me the independence to integrate my personal interpretations into the scene. Moreover, I create bridges between the physical and metaphysical visual realities in the same way that a camera intersects with human creativity . . . the nexus between the mechanical and the cerebral art tools. Art unveils everything that we mask behind our belief systems conversely, I strive in my creations to clarify those phenomena we overlook as a result of our egocentric assumptions. Ironically enough, I blame this failure to notice things, a process I label, the phenomenology of connectedness, on todayaEURtms very infatuation with and addiction to the new communicational technologies of social media. My artworks therefore become like windows through which to examine the mysteries of aEURoeeveryday consciousnessaEUR. In fact, my use of ...

Scott Brown - The world is filled with visual excitement. When I am receptive to that excitement, a work of art is born. Then it becomes a matter of fleshing it out on paper. If I am sucessful the viewer will feel that initial excitement I felt. In a sense, the artist is a reporter of feelings. Digital Collection. Recently I started creating digital artwork. All works in the Digital Collection can be resized to any multiple of 8.5 inches by 11 inches horizontal landscape or vertical portrait orientation. After purchasing the artwork, you must inform me of the size you desire and contact information of the printer you would like to use. I will send the printer the corresponding file. ...

David Larkins - I've always been intrigued by the luminosity and transparencies found in watercolor and acrylic mediums. I believe an artist must experience the painting - to absorb the surroundings, the atmosphere, to have a oneness with the subject matter before the first brush stroke is applied. My style is described as "Abstract Realism" and my strength is found in the composition. I'm drawn to diverse subject matter that challenges the viewer to see abstraction in the ordinary - to meld the "real" world with the "abstract". ...

Eileen Seitz - I was born and raised on the Island of Manhattan, NYC. My spirit learned early about the concrete jungle with its melting pot of cultures and the grand variety of NYC's architecture . It was at the age of 16 that I first traveled to the tropical green jungles OF THE Caribbean. I saw the turquoise seas, the foliage, the flowers when i felt the truth and beauty there overwhelming while inspiring me. Seeing the flow of nature with its colors and harmonies,I feel to bring to life both on paper and canvas. My true joy, comes from two things, the acutal art of painting of letting the spirit speak through my brush, and seeing that spirit reborn in the faces and hearts of the people who come to share my anonymous gift....

Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Than, I had personal exhibitions in Rochehaut (Galerie La Potele), in Dinant (Galerie L'impression), in Paris (Rive Gauche Galerie Artimus) in Brussels (Galerie G-Loft).In 2004, I had three exhibitions, again In Rochehaut, galerie La Potele in May. Then, in September Exhibition Libr'art in Libramont. In November, Galerie Impression in Dinant. What people like most in my paintings are the colours. My art doesn't speak to the intellect but to the soul and to the feelings. Talink the risk to seem old fashioned , I would say it is rather romantic. I wish you much pleasure looking at my paintings. Pol Ledent ...

Ruth Zachary - My goal is to create striking images that touch the viewer emotionally. I try to capture the essence of a subject or scene, so that the viewer reacts with an immediate recognition, and immediate "click" of "Yes." I depend upon composition, simplicity, shape and contrast, as well as my own aesthetic sense and emotional responses. I love creating art through photography. For me it is an opportunity for self-expression, a means of capturing a moment in time and creating beauty, as well as am important means of communication. My education includes a Masters in Social Work and a BA in English Literature. I have done formal study in drawing and pastel, but my photographic study has been informal and self-taught. Since 1980, I have been a frequent visitor to Monhegan Island, 12 miles off the coast of Maine, a remote lobstering island with a summer artists' colony. On Monhegan, I became friends with a group of painters and photographers. I applied what I learned from them to my own work. (Those I am most grateful to include Frances Kornbluth, Leo Brooks, Robin Young, Judi Wagner, Josie Vargas and Nancy Stanich.) I show my art summers on Monhegan Island ...

Nancy Bechtol - Artists explore and give the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. I visualize and think with keen beliefs and insights. Reflection of human and societal concerns which cross emotional boundaries-- communicating that which is unspoken. My traditional art foundations of drawing, painting and printmaking, evolved into video, digital photography and experimental media. I use digital photography and imaging to envision the concepts originating from the creative pulse. An individual artist explores and gives the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. Renee Rutana - As a child, I was fascinated by the vibrant colors of sunsets, the seasons, flowers and certain landscapes. But all of my life I have suffered from severe asthma. While the other children were outside enjoying the snow or jumping in the fallen leaves, blooming flowers of spring, etc. I was inside, looking out the window wishing I could be a part of it. I would never have acquired my artistic skills if it hadn't been for my asthma. I learned to draw and paint, due to many times staying home in bed or at the hospitals (for a couple weeks at a time)with not much to do. It was my escape, a cherished place I could create and imagine I was there instead. While these days my asthma is better, thanks to new medications, I still feel the joy in my heart of creating a special window to the world, my world, for those also interested to see too. My goal as an artist was to paint these subjects capturing the very things that change quickly due to the season or weather or aging. I wanted to shed light on every day things that many people take ...

Dimitri Lazaroff - Like most artists, I work with non-verbal medium - drawing, painting, sculpture etc. - that attempt to convey things which cannot be even remotely described in words. And thats the trouble when being asked to write an artists statement. How one explains that heshe is trying to communicate the unexplainable, things that transcend verbalizing, aspects of existence or glimpses into certain conditions, the occasional insights Artists statements are not really feasible and are bound to be misleading....

Steve Sperry - Steve Sperry Tampa, Florida - Mighty Sight Studio Engaged in Art and music from an early age, Steve has worked in a variety of mediums, and has sustained a life long creative energy. A Graduate of the International Academy of Design, he has dedicated nearly a decade to mastering the tools that enable him to create fluidly and expressively in a virtual environment. Enthralled with the freedom and malleability this technology based medium affords, he has fully embraced it as his primary means of expression. His artistic influences are many and varied, including; Andre Masson, Rene Magritte, Jackson Pollock, Kenneth Huff, and most predominately fellow Artist and friend Michael Braun. Steve's highly expressive images and use of color and form create subtle dimensions that seduce the viewer into a visual exploration. ...

Steve Sperry - Maryann Burton - Find more of my work at MaryannBurton.com Creating a painting is an adventure that begins with how I perceive the world around me. Inspiration, many times, comes from the play of light, how it creates and dissipates color, and whether it is absorbed or reflected. It is a challenge to my senses and technical skills, expressing these effects on paper. The flow, spontaneity, and feel of painting with watercolor thrills me. The unpredictability of the medium is part of the fun. Whether evoking a feeling or a memory, bringing someone a sense of peace or joy, or reminding them of a familiar time or place, I like to make an emotional connection through my artwork. ...

David Welsh - David Welsh was born in Derbyshire (1937), and educated at Eton and King's College, Cambridge. Now retired, his main career has been as a teacher, but painting has never been far behind, especially in the last ten years. He enjoys portrait painting as well as landscape work where his specialities are the effect of light, often on water, and interesting and dramatic clouds and skies. He has always worked in oils, a medium that he finds very suitable for all the effects he wants to achieve. He has been much influenced by a group of contemporary English artists, who are not Avant-garde, but rather proceed from the Impressionist tradition. He admires, among others, artists like Roy Petley, Fred Cuming, Ken Howard and Bernard Dunstan. ...
