Artists Describing Their Art:

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Walt Hug - Hello! Thanks for visiting... I am finally doing something about all of the images and photographs I have taken over the past 30+ years: As a working photographer since the 1970's (I have worked as a Medical Photogpher, Multi-Image Photographer and for 25 years Senior Photographer & Manager of Photographic Services for a large phaarmaceutical company), I never had the time - or put the time and energy- into doing anything with my own personal images - until now. So I am doing high-res scans of many older slides and negs and also printing many newer digital images too from recent travels. The images speak for themselves...You will see many landscapes, portraits, architecture shots and nature too...some in their original form and some digitally enhanced, etc. The print sizes listed are as they are presently printed, but other sizes can also be made with adjusted prices - just let me know. Feedback is always welcome! Cheers, Walt...

Michael Pickett - We all have wonderful talents to bring to the World of art as artist. Your unique style and ambitions are greatly respected. We are empowered by the inspiration of our souls, inspired by the beauty of the world around us, and, in our way, changing the world. My goal as an artist is to make a difference in the world of art. I am color-blind and I have dyslexia. Having overcome many obstacles in my life then sharing my findings to those I run across. I am painfully shy when it comes to promoting myself to different galleries and organizations and that's why I've created my own portfolio web site. (www.pickettonline.com) Competition in the world of art is so high that good artist will eventually give up, not knowing that in there own way, they really are making a difference, Maybe not in the world, but in the local community or their family and friends. ...

Ollie Lett - For the last few years I have been living in the vibrant city of London, England. Its a far cry from the rural landscape of Herefordshire in the west of England where I grew up. My cat paintings have been exhibited frequently around London and have built up quite a following, even published into greetings cards through Galleryfive Ltd. I work with acrylic paint onto usually canvas and occassionally onto paper. Any queries please don't hesitate in contacting me. For more work - www.oliverlett.co.uk ...

Ti Tolpo Bader - Ti (pronounced Tee) Tolpo Bader is a portrait and landscape artist living in Prescott, Arizona. She has been a full-time studio artist since 1986. For over 20 years, Tolpo Bader has created commissioned artworks throughout the United States and parts of Europe. Her over 950 commissions have been live portraits, posthumous portraits, family portraits, genealogical portraits, pet portraits, residential portraits, landscapes, historical vignettes, and portrait collages. Tolpo Bader has lived on the Eastern Seaboard, the Midwest prairie, in the high regions of the Rocky Mountains. She now resides in Prescott, Arizona. A self-taught artist, Tolpo Bader started drawing and experimenting with various mediums at an early age. She was exposed to the artist's life and the freedom of expression while growing up in the family art studio of parents Carl and Lily Tolpo of Chicago, Illinois. Because Tolpo Bader posed as a portrait subject for many of her parents' studio projects, she understands portraiture from the point of view of the sitter. Tolpo Bader developed her love of landscapes and animals during annual family summer-long painting and camping trips to Yellowstone and other National Parks. Ti Tolpo Bader studied art through the years with her professional ...

Alan Hogan - Alan Hogan's view of Art is that it is something that should be enjoyed by all types of people, whether young, old, modern or old-fashioned. He says it is difficult to keep painting the same subjects, variety is very important to him. Unlike so many artists of the past and present, he wants to explore and discover more of what different people from different backgrounds view as good art. Of course Alan has a lot of admiration for many of todays artists as well as the great artists of the past. Alan aims to develop a good relationship with people, whatever their background, by bringing to them a style of art that not only the artist but also the people can enjoy and understand. Alan also says that the styles of painting he uses may change now and then, simply because society and people change. Apart from an inspiring train journey around Europe many years ago and all the wonderful things Mother Nature has to offer, Alan says that much of the inspiration he gets for his paintings nowadays comes from two sources. Firstly, it is good to keep up-to-date on what people want style-wise ...

Maria Beadell - My art displays a mix of subject matter; from portraits to still-life. I prefer to focus on portraiture, so I paint portraits of my loved ones in a variety of poses and surreal contexts that best illustrates what they each mean to me. These paintings and sketches are highly personal. Surrealism is a big influence for me, and in several paintings I have paid homage to my favourite images and symbolism from Bosch, Kandinsky and Dali. I work in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, pencil, pastel and charcoal for sketches. In my gallery I've tried to include all examples of these, and works which demonstrate the different painting styles I like to experiment with. I paint as a hobby (my dream is to paint full-time) and am available for commission. Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy my work!...

Les Kaluza - I consider the talent to paint as one of the most treasured gifts a man or woman can have. The ability and freedom to create, to experiment and search for new forms and techniques, to play with color and lines, is something I wouldn't trade for anything. I just love it!...

David Cuffari - I approach my work as a visual poem. Sometimes the meaning is simple and direct and other times it's more complex. I prefer to create work that is open-ended allowing the viewer their own interpretation of what I present. I am primarily a painter preferring to work in acrylics as it allows me to make rapid revisions which helps keep the work fresh and immediate. The over-arching theme of my artwork is the human condition. I see the fabric of life as woven in opposites. By employing dualities like order/chaos, rough/smooth textures, themes of life/death, controlled effects/happy accidents, rational/irrational imagery, I try to paint interesting pictures that allow the viewer to see the world a bit differently. I am also interested in the notion of time. I don't believe that time is linear but more like an echo. I try to avoid static imagery preferring to create a complex painting that unfolds as you look at it, with layers of imagery and meaning. I do this by preserving the process of editing and revision as I arrive at the final image. Most recently I've been proceeding without a pre-conceived ...
