Nicole Pereira - NICOLE PEREIRA Nicole Pereira is a young rising artist who started producing artwork at the young age of 4. Nicole noticed that she had a gift for art when her artwork was selected in her local public school and community art competitions. The local press also started raving about Nicoles work. With encouragement from her family and friends, Nicole now devotes all of her free time to paint abstract portraits that express her feelings and emotions. Originally, she started drawing realistic portraits of individuals and celebrities, but felt that she wanted to add more. By careful reinterpretation of the portrait, the use of broad brushstrokes and vivid colors, Nicole conveys her thoughts, feelings and emotion to the canvas to create unusual artwork. Nicole is just beginning to get recognition in the art world as a gifted and unique artist and her potential is unlimited....

Jeffrey Dickinson - My work revolves around the figure. Most is drawn directly from a model in a studio setting. Although that sounds simple anyone who has attempted it knows it takes years of practice and effort to produce something worthwhile. I am constantly working towards improving my drawing skills. A few years ago I began doing quick watercolors over my pencil drawings. I like the spontaneity and immediacy achieved in this way. I also paint in oils and acrylics. These paintings are much more planned out and carefully executed. Although the subject matter is often surreal or narrative they still have as there basis a realistically drawn figure. ...
Lucy Drumonde - The Line and Color of an Artist. Lucy Drumonde The provocation of line and color is the subsequent value of the artist and the art. Lucy Drumonde's cartoon and illustration design is the harmonizing line with the intensity of color. The love of lines, textures, shapes, design, simplicity, and the element s of humor, and seriousness -they unify the complexity of playfulness and personality in the final creation of an idea. Artists such as Peter Max, John Wesley, Alexander Caldwell, Gustave Klimt's, and Egan Schiele have whimsical patterns in usage of their lines and color. As well their work has generated emotional and poetic expression. These artists draw contradictions towards each other, and yet convene to their audience the narration in their work. The theory of line and color is to create a simplistic image in its equal balance. The feeling of the paper with the pencil, and the pen, they create the rhythm, and the lyrical aspects of the model or character. Egon Schiele's drawing is an example he demonstrates in the intensity of his style. These artists have influenced Drumonde's own direction to my own freelance unique style of drawing, animation, illustration, painting, cartooning...
David Mihaly - The first series here represents notable historical and pop culture figures, many with Ohio roots, presented in a contemporary style. Each portrait can be seen as a celebration of the individual depicted as well as a meditation on the difference between the bygone era of actual achievement in the arts versus todays culture of instant celebrity. Also included here is a series of textured jazz musician portraits. Each musician painting was made using a layered acrylic technique, evoking the smoky atmosphere of the clubs where the music was born....

Cheryl Johnson - Art and imagination have always gone hand in hand with me from childhood. Repetitive marks suggesting texture, circular mandala images and brilliant colors combine in many of my drawings. I call upon the child-core of my earliest years to begin the creations, keeping in mind that the humor of my now adult perspective tempers but does not inhibit all my visuals. My art is my dreams made visual....
Lisa Reinke - Recognize yourself, someone, everyone and no one in my faces - celebrate color in the shape of a nose, the curve of the ears, the mask of the eyes, and the lines of the lips and hair. Most of all remember the humanity in humanity. The human face inspires me. As humans, we respond to its image beyond all others. For all its familiarity, we rarely pause to consider the face as a visual form, something more than the recognition of a friend or an interaction with a stranger. I paint the face in ways to cause the viewer to reconsider its splendor and renew faith in all things human. Colors and sunlight playing across faces remind me of our connection to the universe and symbolize eternal and fleeting moments simultaneously. I love how we recognize and explore human faces for clues to identity and personality. I am happy to be creating my work and hope that my art inspires you to look around and see the world as a vibrant and exciting place where the most amazing patterns are on display all the time.
