Artists Describing Their Art:

Wendy Lippincott - Complex allegories dominate the many themes that pervade Ms. Lippincott's paintings. She prefers incorporating science into her art, consistent with her background in electrical engineering, but often gets waylaid with mythological and historical visions. Her paintings are currently only available for licensing. She hopes to have prints available soon. ...

Wendy Lippincott - Rickie Dickerson - I work from the core, I smear my guts on the canvas, all the pain and confusion...joy, lust and anger...right before your very eyes. I have to paint, I have no choice. My mentor, Luise "Mignon" Andersen, introduced me to acrylic paint and threw me deeper into the river of creativity. Everything I do is just to keep me from drowning... As for the photography, that's compulsive as well....

Michael Schaffer - Exploring the realms of color, texture, drama, and feelings are the main ingredients of my art work. To inspire the viewer to deal with the issues presented to him is my goal. To inspire the viewer to interpret and react is my passion. I hope you have been inspired... or at least have an opinion. Art and life have many of the same ingredients for us to enjoy....

Paul Freeman - I am an artist working in ceramic and metal on a small scale of size. The works are lyrical and convey an interest in the benevolent character of human beings. The morality of the represented people conveys a feeling of pleasant engagement. I am inspired by people's everyday interactions, the good attitude that keeps society running. There is nothing that people of goodwill cannot resolve. I also paint and do computer art and have a degree in Master of Studio Art from Sydney College of the Arts (University of Sydney)....

Paul Freeman - Nancy Bechtol - Artists explore and give the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. I visualize and think with keen beliefs and insights. Reflection of human and societal concerns which cross emotional boundaries-- communicating that which is unspoken. My traditional art foundations of drawing, painting and printmaking, evolved into video, digital photography and experimental media. I use digital photography and imaging to envision the concepts originating from the creative pulse. An individual artist explores and gives the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. Hampton Olfus - ARTIST STATEMENT Over the past twelve years, IaEURtmve been working in acrylic paint, ink, pencil and mixed media. During this time period, I was inspired by an assortment of topics, while repeating one of my mainstay topics, music, and culture. Creating in the moment, allows the intuitive sensibilities too be part of the process. I bring an eclectic aesthetics with me into the studio, which I transfer into what I create. My true emotions, is what I aspire to transfer, visually to the viewer, through the media. Hampton R. Olfus, Jr. Artist ...

Obert Fittje - In addition to the mythology of our culture, we all have certain experiences, expressions and images that have deep personal significance and meaning. These form the foundation of our personal mythology. Some of us have richer and more elaborate personal mythologies than others. Recently I came to the realization that I was mainly painting the images of my own personal mythology. I am self taught as a painter and after painting for eleven years, I consider that to my advantage as the icons of my mythology are rarely something out there in the material world. My paintings lie somewhere between the presence and the absence of an identifiable image. It would have been a waste of time for me to have spent years learning the techniques to make my paintings look realistic because the subjects of my mythology are mostly imaginary. I do not go outside to nature to find the subjects of my paintings, but rather I paint inside using my imagination and the images of my personal mythology. As a retired professional psychologist, I have been trained in the use of projective tests such as the Rorschach Inkblots where the observer is presented with purposely-vague images. The ...

Durlabh Singh - Sice R.Mutt's urinal, visual art in the western world has suffered a shock & a decline. It has become mere conceptual & has gone back to literary traditions of making statements.Abstraction has become a puritan's attitude of non-depiction of human body in a dignified form.My art is a sort of revolt against this kind of pseudo-intellectualism. My art takes account of both biological & metaphysical aspect of human body.It is a breakthrough to new levels of reality creating significant forms necessary for development of human spirit. I welcome any suggestions or comments regarding my work. If anyone is interested in buying please contact me.Main aim of my art has never been financial gains. I have exhibited all over the world including India, Kenya, Helsinki, Paris, London & New york etc.My work is in private & public collections incliding Ministry Of DefenceLondon & Horniman Museum London....

Sigmund Sieminski - Stating of the obvious....."art" is always a matter of perception.or as the infamous Popeye the Sailorman was quoted... "I ain't no physicist, but I know what matter's". ART reminds me of lifes' most essential ingredient..that being water. It is fluid, can freeze moments in time, and can transport you. And in its gaseous state is as etherial as the concept of art itself. ...

Daniel Wend - In my work, I've drawn from nature in visceral ways to explore my connection to the natural world. Art is yet another way of discovering new vistas and learning new things about places familiar. Much of my current work is done in oil pastel, which I prefer for thier brilliance and versatility (I use them on a wide variety of surfaces). Oil pastels also allow me to weave back and forth between the disciplines of painting and illustrating. I use up to 10 different types of oil pastel in some of my paintings, because of the variations in softness, opacity or color selection that allows me to build, transform and evolve a work....

Elio Pastore - Elio Stefano PASTORE was born in Turin (Italy), where he lives and works. He has got a degree in Law, and works in the communication field for a big public company acquiring a twenty-year experience in that sector. He started using PC in 1998 for creative necessities relating to his job, discovering little by little its fascinating power and making it a trustful and indispensable tool. Fond of photography, travels and mountains, he has often put together these interests, getting numerous awards in photography contests and publishing his picture stories on different magazines. His artistic life - started in 1992 - has found in the digital art his ideal medium of expression; infact the digital art allows him to draw inspiration from the objectivity but to filter it through his personal life, so transforming it in an ideal and essential reality, spread through an emotionally intimate atmosphere. From this synergy between a personal sensibility and a technical mastery, were born pictorial imagines devoid of modern references and contaminations, creating a world with no time suspended between magic realism and poetry. Starting from the year 2000, from the original production, he has led in a parallel way, a personal research on forms ...
