Artists Describing Their Art:
Tatiana Ilina - I am Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture. I also graduated from the Sogetsu school of ikebana of Japan. After more than 20 years of experience in the architecture I decided it was time to focus on her true passion, painting....
Eli Gross - "Aspire to happiness, to calm a tempestuous soul, towards serenity "- that's the way Eli Gross articulates the nature of his art. In his youth he was a student of the famous artists Jacob (Yoyo) El Hanani and Gabi Ben Zano. Recently after half a century of a demanding carrier, Eli has finally realized his age old dream. He studies art at Avni institute and is an active artist, painter and sculptor. Eli's longing for happiness is molded into the harmonious movement of his dancer characters. The same ideas are also conveyed in a silent embrace or pastoral landscape. The underpinning notion is one of harmonies stasis and nirvana. A longing for absolute happiness and tranquility for a turbulent soul, for moments of serenity facilitated by silent embrace and harmonious movement of two unique souls and two intimate bodies in synchronized flow merging in body and soul. An interesting path leads Eli's work that starts as a drawing, then a burgeoning imagery, maturing into a painting and sometimes a multi-dimensional sculpture all born of a single idea. ...
Jian Yu Jhuang - The early ancestors of Taiwan lived hard, and in order to seek the coexistence of nature, they used religious spiritual activities to appease the people. Combined with the local natural environment to create a unique general art show. Through temple festivals , without losing traditional norms, it is perfectly created with art. Lucille Coleman - Although I'm able to produce other imagery, the figure has been my main subject. I believe that if an artist can capture and express the figure well, he can master any subject. I have explored the following themes to name a few: chic erotica, forms of dance such as latin and hip-hop, the family, conceptual themes pertaining to people in business, men and women in positive leadership roles and societal issues. I enjoy painting subjects and themes by using a loose, bold, direct and painterly brushstroke or flat graphite strokes over a solid drawing. Spontaneity and making visual statements by the "less is more" method is very gratifying for me. In addition, the chiaroscuro lighting of subjects fascinates me and I never tire of its effects of light and shadow. I am influenced by the works of Joaquin Sorolla, John Singer Sargeant, Caravaggio and other painters of his era, Wassily Kandinsky, Phillip Corey, Impressionism, and many great illustrators. ...
Elena Sokolova - I started painting after some years of living in Holland. There is probably something special in the air here :) . With exception of some lessons by professional artists, I am selftaught. One of my paintings was used on a book cover:
Martin Glick - As a realistic sculptor I have often been accused of running against the tide of the more modern and abstract movements, but if you take a good look at the work the design is abstract. The look of the work may be, at first glance academic or classical, but the composition is very much in today's idiom. There is a strong sense of movement. Even in the symmetrical sculptures you feel as if they are about to move, like a stop motion camera. They all invite invite you to walk around and see the other side. There is often a strong emotional element and or a narrative. In some sense I am a story teller. Even when viewing one of my portraits you see the subject. Their history and personality is in their face for you to see and to react to. I have been told that my sculptures have something that is unique. There is a twist to the norm, a twist of the form, an emotional element that is mine. It is my heart and my particular view of the world. No price quoted on a sculpture means that it is at a gallery. All i inquiries...
Faiqa Uppal - I create rhythm, movement, expression with water and balance them with colours. My dancing figures and colourful flowers this is how I communicate with the world. Listen to me with your artistic vision. The use of pure colours demonstrates my expressionistic style. Capturing light and the moment illustrate my pull towards a more impressionist style. I must say my slogan, aEURoeExpression with the touch of ImpressionaEUR, does justice to describe my paintings. My artwork includes beautiful Cityscapes, breathtaking landscapes, and lively Figure Compositions. My artistic vision expresses my deep fascination and love for nature and culture. Each of these watercolour paintings represent a place or an object of significance in my life....
Richard Young - I am a self-taught professional Artist, born in Yorkshire, in 1961, and now based in Reading, UK where I have my office and studio. Though I have always had a flair for pencil and chalk drawing, I graduated in engineering in 1983 and with a passion to travel, I initially pursued a career as a design consultant in various managerial roles with international design consulting companies, residing primarily in the Middle East. Nevertheless, an artisan at heart, I returned to Commercial Art in 2003, initially as a semi-professional artist and have extensively developed my own personal style and technique. I create all oil paintings entirely using a knife, often in a limited colour palette and mixing only on the canvas. The style of my artwork is modern, yet classical traditional and occasionally contemporary. The compositions are influenced and inspired by the realism and romanticism of my favourite post renaissance classical Masters and their timeless, romantic masterpieces. My artwork compositions mostly entail dramatic lighting and shading, in a high contrast. I simply adore light and am fascinated with its arguably undue influence on any subject. Predominantly figurative, I aim to capture a carefully composed aloof anonymity, mood, atmosphere, drama, ...
