Artists Describing Their Art:

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. C. A. Hoffman - For me, my artwork is very personal. It reflects a lot about how I am feeling at any given time and place. I feel that art has to be on this personal level to completely capture how the artist is feeling daily, or trying to convey a certain thought or emotion at that particular moment. We all, at one time or another try to express our thoughts or ideas, whether it is to others or just to ourselves, by words, actions, ideas or pictures. If we are sucessful in this attempt, I think it shows through in our everyday work or art. I believe that one is either born to create art naturally or by learning. For me, I feel that I was born with this wonderful gift, and I try to improve upon it every day. In my photos and art, I hope to show how everyday objects and nature can capture our imaginations and feelings. Sometimes I work with an image to improve it, inhance it, or just to fuel the imagination. I truly hope this shows in all of my art. ...

Sir Mbonu Christopher Emerem - I conceive life and living in the context of our relationships with the sacred realm. Hence, my artworks and creative efforts place man at the center of function. With the combinations of Western and African motifs my arts are made to rouse the conscience of mankind, reclaim the human race, and restore humanity and the dignity of man. For my Paintings, I use acrylic, oil, watercolor, pencil and mixed media in the execution of my works. For my Digital Arts, I use computer and scanning technology and for my Sculptures, I use cement and fiber. I saturate my works with stunning and imposing sacrosanct by borrowing and using connotative images to show hidden force using themes that emphasize my sufferings as a struggling artist. For me carrying on the old conventions is not enough. Although I take them into account, I also seek inspiration from the life around me in order to make the traditions serve modern times. As life reveals to me its fresh meanings, I find it difficult not to reflect on them. All in all, I am either stimulated by my personal experiences of life or by environmental, touching, mind-purifying and life-consoling experiences to which...

Ridha Ridha - Abstract painting, which reflects my feelings and thoughts. My painting is for me a medium to express my views and impressions. I do it to feel free and to communicate with the whole people around the world. My art is an important mission for peace, love , freedom and democracy. In addition, it's a protest against oppression, tyranny, war, violence and Terror. ...

German Guerra - The reason for creation my abstract works is very simple and very complex. I feel the strong necessity to compose and produce this kind of work. For me iti?1/2s like a serious game with color, form and music. I doni?1/2t know what i?1/2am I looking fori?1/2 with my works, just I know that I have to do it. Other kind of work like Cityscape or Graffitis arise because it's part of interesting visual in each city. For me it's very complicated to walk everywhere without the camera. ...

Marc Rubin - The works displayed are giclee prints of original digital paintings and photo reconstructions. The concept behind some of these images is to take photographs that were created around the turn of the last century when photography was a new technology being explored as a creative medium, and combining it with today's digital technology to explore the use of digital technology as a new creative medium creating images as unique and one of a kind as hand drawing or painting ...

Rodolfo Chavarriaga - Rodolfo Chavarriaga Biographical Sketch Rodolfo Chavarriaga was born in Bogota, Colombia, S.A. in 1951 He lived in Bogota until the age of six, moved to Paris for a period of one year, and then returned to Bogota. Influenced by his grandfather, an impresario and filmmaker, as a young man Chavarriaga showed an interest in sculpture, film, dance, theatre and music. His surrounding changed again a year after returning to Bogota when his family moved to Medellin, Colombia. Returning to Bogota one year later, he attended several different schools between the ages of 8 and 13. Was later enrolled at the boarding school Colegio Sugamuxi in Sogamoso, Boyaca. Chavarriaga's world changed once again the summer of 1966. Fourteen at the time, his whole family migrated to Miami, Florida. Chavarriaga recognized his love for art early on. With an aptitude for the manual and visual arts, he started to realize his calling and inclination during his youth. He began to display talent in this area while living in Paris as a child. He focused on and had the opportunity to develop his skills in the plastic arts during his schooling in Colombia, enrolling in and excelling at coursework in the ...

Joanna A. Rytel - Few words about me My journey through the world of art began in Warsaw, Poland in 1965. As a 7 year old I attended an art class with my best friend Marysia. The subject matter might not have been the most ambitious, but the passion for expressing myself through various forms of art remains. Since that first art class I have dipped my fingers in many art forms like oil painting, mixed media, ceramic, mosaic, and photography. I love them all. To me, the most important thing about art is not the form, but the feeling. The feeling of being, of living. 20 years ago I moved to the United States with my daughter Dorota. Soon after arriving here I got involved in the Chicago art scene. In 1991 Gosia Garbalska and I established a non for profit organization called Art Moves International, which was devoted to artist exchange between Eastern Europe and the United States. Later on I represented Polish artists as the curator of Gallery 58, and helped organize many exhibits and art events such as Around the Coyote. After a long period of playing the role of art curator, I decided to focus on my own development ...
