Federico Winqvist Estrada - If we define contrast as the opposition or juxtaposition of different forms, lines, or colors in a work of art to intensify each element's properties and produce a more dynamic expressiveness. Then this definition undoubtedly would apply to the work of Mexican born, Swedish resident Federico Winqvis Estrada. However this definition can be applied in a more extensive sense, including structures as smooth surface in opposition to rough or textures like matte finish opposed to glossy parties. Even in relation to the theme; flesh in contrast with spirituality. Or even more as shown in Federico`s latest works, the frequently despised insects and beetles in combination with the crown of creation; the human form. "I'm a great lover of vivid color and of well defined lines, I enjoy creating contrasts and then struggle to make them harmonize For example hard straight forms against soft rhythmical curves or dark shades against bright hues, often complementary colors". "My painting reflects largely my somewhat extreme nature. I am a very intense and passionate person just like the red-orange color scheme in my canvas, while at the same time I can suffer from melancholy and an awareness of life's briefness...

Dariya Afanaseva - All my works are dedicated to the themes of relationship and sensation translated on a language of painting. For example, relationship between people. Relationships human about him/her self and to outward things. And some of my works are about memories and thoughts. And also it is interesting for me to reproduce an eluding moment, an impression in a matter of seconds, fragments of life. Just because everything depends on nuance. Three main styles I work in are abstractionism, expressionism and a bit of pop-art. But these styles are not just as they are, it`s always a combination of them. Some of my Abstract works represent things that aren't visual, such an emotion, mood, feeling, sound and so on. These works are very association. My figurative abstractions are simplifications of reality, where detail is eliminated from recognisable objects leaving only the essence or some degree of recognizable form. Some works are expressive. I just let my intuition guide me. Not to thinking, not to be doubt of anything. It is about trusting the process and setting free the instincts. And also I like decorativeness and beauty of coloring. My choice of medium are acrylic and mixed media ...

Randall Fox - I am interested in making visual statements about the interaction of time, history, cultures, memory, intellect, intuitions, experiences and the spiritual, in and on the human creative process. "inherent in all manifest in the few" Born: 1960 Education: Bachelor of Science Degree, Industrial Technology (Technical Management) California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo A.S. Degree Canada Collage, Redwood City, California (General Engineering-Pre Med.) Vanessa Bernal - Artist's statement: My earliest childhood memories are those of painting with my grandfather and frequently visiting the Art Institute of Chicago where we would spend countless hours together. He taught me that everything we come in contact with has the potential of becoming a work of art. My grandfather and I would take walks together to hunt for "treasures" of discarded objects that later he would turn into beautiful collages and assemblages. It is those lessons I carry with me and -today- in my work I see his influence. I have never been comfortable with expressing myself verbally. I am not one to strike up a conversation with a stranger, nor do I feel comfortable speaking to a group of people. Visual expression comes naturally to me; it is through this means I can best communicate with others and feel the most comfortable. At a young age I became aware of the injustices being perpetrated in the world and was deeply disenchanted with the political process as a means of creating effective change in our global community. For me, becoming an artist was inevitable. Through the visual arts not only did I communicate my life's passions, my fears, ...

Louise Parenteau - ARTISTIC STATEMENT I studied fine arts at the University Of Quebec In Montreal (1986-1991). I was involved in various artistic activities in which I took a strong stand against injustice, poverty, and social exclusion. My work took shape using different methods of research and observation. I articulated my artistic approach inspired by existential human sufferings. I created portraits of individuals with unusual physical traits, expressions, deformities, attitudes... These characters inspired me to use colour in contrasts and splashes. My aim was to express the life animating the characters by an internal light. For my installations, I used a physical space to transpose socio-political situations and dramatic events. With the barest resources, my intention was to stimulate the interest of the viewer. My material supplies: Acrylic, rubbish, wood, metal, rust, polystyrene panels, personal objects, used clothing, etc. In 1995, I realized that I had reached limits with my artistic approach. I decided to have a period of questioning with the aim of going further in my research in terms of intention and expression. This process enabled me to explore, to experiment with different materials and to reposition myself using sculpture as my main form of expression. Ever...

Dana Zivanovits - Dana Zivanovits was born in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio and received his art training from the Columbus College of Art and Design (1978 to 1982). After art school, he went abroad for a year and studied the art of the old masters in London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Venice. Returning to his studio in Columbus to develop these influences into a new body of work, he then traveled to Mexico and studied the sculpture and painting of that country for an extended period. The unique and vivid colors of Palenque and Vera Cruz intensified his palette. After a period in Ohio, he then moved to Venice Beach, California where the brilliant light of the region reinforced his desire to capture effects of sunlight and atmosphere. Returning to Ohio in 1995, he has continued to paint themes deriving inspiration form sources such as world mythology, classic and B-grade cinema, literature and dreams. However his primary inspiration is direct observation from nature, versus an approach based in art theories or cultural critique. Dana has been widely represented by galleries and exhibition projects including Julie Rico and Mega Boom in Los Angeles, the Venice Art Detour, Around the Coyote Festival in Chicago ...

Theodore Kennett Raj - About Theodore As a visual artist I follow my own muse. My visual narrative paintings and pen drawings reflect fanciful subjects and situations depicted with explosions of colour and textures. Born in Maduria India, I have a very exuberant colour sense which reflects the origins of my country of birth. In 1974 I studied design and art at Shillito design school in Sydney, NSW. I have spent most of my working life in the fashion industry . Previously I have exhibited my work at eca bar in Darlinghurst, Sydney, NSW which atrracted enthusiastic commentry from the fusion of creative locals of the area. In 2007 I was invited to join a group exhibition at Tap gallery in Sydney which was received with great enthusiasm. I relocated to to the northen rivers region of NSW. This move has given me a new freedom to to visualise and create new colours and shapes which excites me and gives me new sense of experimentation bringing new movement and life into my work. since march 2012 i have been exhibiting at the Channon gallery ,in the beautiful hamlet of channon N.S.W.Australia.the new body of works i have created useig acrylic and ...

Claudiu Ciobanu - Working with figurative art does not necessarily illustrate reality but rather recompose an image using specific medium to express an emotion, sensations, attitudes. I channel my interests to a message that follows first archiving the present in a subjective sense considering that the painting is generating sensory images but from a semiotics perspective, signifies the existence of something else, respectively a mental construction. What follow in my art is a recontextualing an image to embezzle original meaning of an image drawn from real, acquired a new sense, both at sensorial leveland conceptual. I am interested by space such as social organizations, urban area and opposition between public space and private. My Projects describe dissolution subjective perspective of daily reality. ...

David Diener - My appreciation of the human figure can hardly be discribed in words. I have been studying the human figure for over 20 years. I love the female form and it has always been a symbol of beauty to be admired. The soft curves of the female form are a constant mystery to be explored. In my drawings and photography I tend to use only one light source to accent the subtle shapes. I let the light fall over the form like cascading rain drops. In my drawings I am washing the figure with light and color....
