  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Daniel Clarke - Daniel E. Clarke is a Los Angeles Native who has been painting his entire career in the Los Angeles area. His art education has included studying under the internationally famous Timothy Clark, UCLA Extension University, and Glendale College. He has explored both pictorial and abstract designs but is dedicated to a free flow of color and dynamic composition. Mr. Clarke has concentrated on the acrylic and watercolor medium, and paints on location in his Los Angeles based studio. He also maintains his paintings and sales in his own company called Berrypunch Gallery. ...

Manuela Facchin Varalda - Why painting? For the desire of a deep knowledge of things. Painting, for me, is not only communication, but almost an additional sense, a further perception of world, of the real and of the imaginary, of the material and of the dream, of the objective and of the individual. Painting is for me the place of the revelation, of the primary reflection. As a self taught artist, I have been painting and drawing since I can remember - this is a part of me. I have discovered that Art Wanted is the opportunity to share this part with somebody else, from all over the world, trying to understand, to give a sense to our imagination and needs. Manuela...

Marsha Bowers - Marsha Bowers was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. She is a classically trained fine artist, skilled in the old Masters techniques of Flemish/Bistre and Venetian method using a grisaille underpainting and glazing with many layers. Most of her fine art paintings are rendered in oil. She sometimes applies real gold leaf into the artworks. Marsha finds inspiration in the old masters of the past. She spends many hours visiting Museums studying their work. Gothic and Renaissance are her favorite periods along with the Pre-Raphaelites artists. The artist loves the blending of the classical painting techniques with a more contemporary approach to her paintings. Her recent fine art paintings are of women, both figurative and portraiture. The inspiration for her paintings comes from her observations of life itself and through her own experiences. Each painting shares a message, story or emotion. Its what the artist herself describes as a "flowing" of the spirit, a creative process through which the artist paints a story unto the canvas, realizing that each viewer of her work may have their own interpretation of what the art is conveying. Most recently Marsha was invited to be included into the International ...

Deborah Paige Jackson - I love art and design in all forms and medium, in every aspect of my life. Its a part of who I am and something I cant get away from. I try to use true to life situations when possible. My favorite medium is watercolor because of the beauty of it. It seems to have a life of its own as it flows and connects with the paper. Yet, the medium forces me to think and use extraordinary control. I am at a point in my life where the thought of art, design, and all the components involved in them consume my thinking. It shows up in my home in decorating, in my garden with landscaping, in my work, even with my family. I look forward to increasing my art presence in my portfolio here and in as many venues as possible. To all who view my work, I wish you much enjoyment. ...

Marino Chanlatte - I started painting a long time before I realized it was my passion, and that I would be a painter. I felt the inner need to express through painting, in a freely and spontaneous way, my feelings, thoughts, ideas and fantasies that appeared as visions ... I use color, texture, shapes, light, and shadows to express myself. If my work communicates any emotion or feeling to the viewer, then I accomplished my purpose....

Daniel Wall - Daniel Wall is the founder of Intense Impressionism, which is characterized by unsurpassed intensity and boldness. Started in the 1980s by Daniel Wall, Intense Impressionist techniques include big, conspicuous strokes created with palette knife, extreme texture with heavy paints, intensified vibrant colors, and exaggerated striking effects of lights. Daniel Wall's Intense Impressionist landscape, cityscape, seascape, and floral paintings are unrivalled in their popular appeal and are among the best loved in the world today. Daniel Wall began drawing and painting when he was a little kid. His first art teacher was his mother, a very talented and diligent art and craft woman. Daniel Wall earned a lot of art awards in his childhood. He had been accepted to a fine art academy when he was a teen. He has study fine art in China, Italy, and United States. He gained his art senses, different calture, apprences, and ability from a variety of art sources by working as an art instructor, art editor, illustrator, and professor. That is key why he was able to establish the Intense Impressionism style painting. He made his decision and became a professional artist after got his master degree from Georgia Southern University. Daniel Wall ...

Michael Garr - I have been drawing and painting since Junior High. I enjoy quick art, impressionistic yet realistic, and minimal. There are interesting subjects all around us. My inspirations are architecture, people, light and shadow, the sea and boats, imagination... and the old masters. Get out and enjoy your surroundings. All my works are available as signed and numbered prints. I also do commission works, some examples of which are in the portfolio. I donate all proceeds to charity, and have recently teamed with SAVE THE BAY, a local Rhode Island eco-advocate organization, which receives 30 PER CENT of my proceeds. My opportunities for artistic expression have included drawing on napkins during airplane rides and waiting during my sons music lessons. In 2012 I took up oil painting for the first time, and my mentor is Lorena Pugh of North Kingstown. Ive done both Plein air and studio work in her presence, and am benefitting from the association. We have an informal group who meet and paint in Lorenas studio on Monday nights throughout the indoor season. I will continue to pursue art on a daily basis, and post the finished works here and on facebook for any and all to ...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Rickie Dickerson - I work from the core, I smear my guts on the canvas, all the pain and confusion...joy, lust and anger...right before your very eyes. I have to paint, I have no choice. My mentor, Luise "Mignon" Andersen, introduced me to acrylic paint and threw me deeper into the river of creativity. Everything I do is just to keep me from drowning... As for the photography, that's compulsive as well....

Nancy Bechtol - Artists explore and give the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. I visualize and think with keen beliefs and insights. Reflection of human and societal concerns which cross emotional boundaries-- communicating that which is unspoken. My traditional art foundations of drawing, painting and printmaking, evolved into video, digital photography and experimental media. Ruth Zachary - My goal is to create striking images that touch the viewer emotionally. I try to capture the essence of a subject or scene, so that the viewer reacts with an immediate recognition, and immediate click of Yes. I depend upon composition, simplicity, shape and contrast, as well as my own aesthetic sense and emotional responses. I love creating art through photography. For me it is an opportunity for self-expression, a means of capturing a moment in time and creating beauty, as well as am important means of communication. My education includes a Masters in Social Work and a BA in English Literature. I have done formal study in drawing and pastel, but my photographic study has been informal and self-taught. Since 1980, I have been a frequent visitor to Monhegan Island, 12 miles off the coast of Maine, a remote lobstering island with a summer artists colony. On Monhegan, I became friends with a group of painters and photographers. I applied what I learned from them to my own work. Those I am most grateful to include Frances Kornbluth, Leo Brooks, Robin Young, Judi Wagner, Josie Vargas and Nancy Stanich. I show my art summers on Monhegan Island ...
