Vasily Zolottsev - There is only one law in art which carries objective character and comes from the very nature, conditional character and illusiveness of art! It is an indispensable condition of creation of an artistic image! It is necessary to judge an artwork by intensity and importance of the image and force of its emotional influence! Style, manner and technique don't have any importance and they are equivalent! The good picture of a primitive artist can be much more valuable in the art sense than a 'competent' picture of a realist and on the contrary! If there is an image, there is a work of art, if there isn't, it's no use crying for the moon! And it is not important which art means it has been reached by! Everyone to his 'own' taste! ...
Paul Orzech - Paul Orzech Sculpture Studio Artist Statement: The heart of my artwork is expressed by the words "Classical form with a modern edge." As an artist, I feel the need to incorporate the classic concepts of the human figure from the Ancient Greek and Italian Renaissance periods, with the more message-oriented elements of today's art. My belief in the beauty and power of the raw human form is exquisitely celebrated in the classical forms of sculpture. The modern themes I treat in my art include feminism; contemporary ideas of spirituality and love; and the all consuming presence time plays in our fast-paced American lives. I feel there is a quiet strength in the combination of established classics and contemporary expression that demonstrates a smooth continuity of social history. ...
Obert Fittje - In addition to the mythology of our culture, we all have certain experiences, expressions and images that have deep personal significance and meaning. These form the foundation of our personal mythology. Some of us have richer and more elaborate personal mythologies than others. Recently I came to the realization that I was mainly painting the images of my own personal mythology. I am self taught as a painter and after painting for eleven years, I consider that to my advantage as the icons of my mythology are rarely something out there in the material world. My paintings lie somewhere between the presence and the absence of an identifiable image. It would have been a waste of time for me to have spent years learning the techniques to make my paintings look realistic because the subjects of my mythology are mostly imaginary. I do not go outside to nature to find the subjects of my paintings, but rather I paint inside using my imagination and the images of my personal mythology. As a retired professional psychologist, I have been trained in the use of projective tests such as the Rorschach Inkblots where the observer is presented with purposely-vague images. The ...

Will Kellermann - Willemine Kellermann, who autographs her paintings with Will Kellermann or WK for short, has been active as a professional artist for more than 30 years. Her work differentiates itself from others due to its adventure-like style and technique; she commands the subject and uses her materials as she sees fit. Most well-known are her'silkcolors', which are flowing paintings on silk giving an extra dimension in the way the light falls on them. In her oils, watercolours and pastels, she also demonstrates her strength in use of colour, never hard or cool, but rather vivid and full of warmth. Connoisseurs and critics often make comparisons with the great impressionists of the past, particularly her landscapes in oil or her intensive pastels of models. Will Kellermann senses forms and colours as a pleasure in life and knows how to convey this in her paintings. A painting made by Will Kellemann uplifts your mood and is gratifying for your soul. This is why such a painting will never bore you; it provides access to a romantic adventure that takes the viewer to a world of one's most beautiful dreams. Kellermann paitings hang everywhere from New York (Los Angeles) to ...
William Nelson - The Corporate Lease Program, initiated in 1994, leases one of a kind fine art and limited addition fine art prints to the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia community on a monthly basis. Businesses may choose from a variety of works or have custom art created for them. The works vary from realism to abstraction, reflecting in its variety of techniques and styles the evolution in fine art. Leasing has many benefits. While businesses obtain quality art at a fraction of the cost of purchasing their own, the lease fees are used to purchase supplies each year, helping the struggling artist community stay creative. In addition, by placing art in the community, businesses help our collection serve as an outreach program to educate and familiarize the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia community with America's leading contemporary artists and the Where Art Thou family. The lease fees of the matted and framed prints range from $25 to $500 per month including insurance, delivery and installation in the company's office. After the 23-month leasing period, the works are collected and returned to the Where Art Thou gallery where the entire collection is again made available for lease to businesses ...
Tzipi Biran - I try to express the feminine experience as a complete individual that is constantly engaged in fulfilling her independence and femininity. Parallel to this, I emphasize the potential of a harmonious and holistic connection within a nourishing, supporting and creative relationship between a couple, a promoting and protective partnership within a spiritual and physical connection. The figures in my works are like the dance of life in which the steps of one are adjacent, connecting, opposing, and supporting to that of others, creating a changing and constant movement. ...

Rashmi Gawali - Artist Statment I paint to represent aspects of human emotions and nature in a way, that makes the viewers get a unique perspective on the subject matter. Throughout the process I am filled with an anticipation of how the painting is going to turn out and this is what keeps me going and is not finished till it fulfills the vision with which I started. I like to work on compositions, experiment with different textures, mediums and techniques, with the aim of making them illusive for a poetical look. Painting landscapes on the location allows me to get into an eclectic mood, amongst landscapes I like doing seascapes because I like to capture the force of waves, the colors of a sea and the sky at sunset. I start off my work with some rough designs, finalize on a subject, then work on more sketches, before starting to paint. I like to use the knife mainly because it emotes bold strokes, gets the effects faster and also I think mixing the colors are easier. Working in acrylic is quicker, because it dries out fast, allows me to do both opaque and transparent work, whereas with oil it has it's...
