Sometimes perhaps I say too much about my self but maybe it helps people understand what motivates my work. For your information I've lived in 8 different countries and have been around the world 5 times. I speak a few different languages, some very well; others not so well. By the way I am not a workaholic as I don't consider what I do work. I enjoy life too much. I forgot to say I am also a weight lifter as lifting weights is my Zen. When I am troubled the concentration it takes to lift makes me calm. I guess my page will probably be a little different from what people expect. Sorry I have not been uploading new work as ...
Alexandra Shatokhina - My artistic practice is based on three main features. First, I consider the creation of painting as the building of sculpture, thataEURtms why I often use thick layers of paint to give it volume and the feeling of third dimension. Sometimes for this reason I also use real things or stones inside of the painting, so I blur the line between two different genres in art painting and sculpture. A good day in my life includes being creative in some way. I love it when I spend time with my creative friends and we talk about our interests and pursuits in glass or other media. The first glass items I made were for myself and my family. Soon, I began making glass art to give to my friends. You knew that you were a good friend if you had many pieces of my art glass. Friends doing shows, introduced me to selling my art glass and making enough to sell. So, I now make enough for friends, family and to sell. I often find myself taking a break from the task at hand, by going out and creating something with glass in the middle of another project. My outlook on life improves the more I create with glass. I will always love art glass and hope that you do, too. People...
