  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Caren Keyser - My expressionist paintings are done using an intuitive process. I begin with the paint and then allow the paint and my subconscious to lead me to the subject matter. Exciting interactions between colors evolve from brushwork, pouring, glazing, spraying and other techniques. I strive to show the essence of the subject rather than paint an overly realistic image. I never know what I will find next in my work. I hope it will be dramatic and emotional. Note that the paintings are not framed. ------------------------------------- I began painting professionally in 1977 after studying art at Florida Atlantic University. There I explored the many styles and techniques available to the acrylic painter. My first photo-realism style piece was created while attending FAU. I knew from that moment that realistic nature scenes would be my style of choice. This remained my theme and style until after 2005. As time has passed my work has changed and become more creative in its processes. Color is still the dominant feature in my work. As my focus has shifted toward expressionism I stored my realism pieces. The originals of many of them are still available for purchase and are included in my inventory here at ...

Guy Octaaf Moreaux - One of the biggest luxuries in life, is to live surrounded by beauty. This is what I am trying to do. Harmony is an integral part of beauty, this is what I am trying to convey in my work. It is indeed an necessity for me to create. It has always been this way for as far as I can remember. Not creating makes me feel empty and unfulfilled. In every day life it pervades all my actions, from cooking to finding different places to visit, walk, etc.... Nature inspires me a lot, many other sights or thoughts as well. If I end up painting a landscape, a portrait or something else, it is because I felt a strong emotion and an urge to do it. Hopefully my paintings inspire other people and radiate harmony in the home or office where they hang. Having lived in North and South America and in northern and southern Europe, I picked up bits of cultures all over. During my stay in California I first came into contact with asian art and philosophy which would leave a lasting mark on me. The influence from Asia was reinforced in Argentina where I took classes of ...

Jyoti Thomas - I feel passionate about creating in many different forms and mediums but I'm predominantly a painter. My art comes from my inner world giving a voice to thoughts and emotions that can't always be adequately expressed in other ways. I am always in awe of the deep power of creativity to heal and bring deep insight. Most of my works are rich in colour and symbols and are an emotional and soul felt interpretation of the world within me and around me. The works shown here are from several bodies of work those being Meet Anita, Gifts of Descent, Below the Surface, Fragments, Oceans of Choice. and Night Sea Journey. My artwork has been a constantly changing river of works following the journey of my life, through good times and difficult times and has always been a refuge and a deep love. While the artwork just IS in its own right I also hope that it taps into others experiences of life and links us together in our common humanity. I love art just for its own sake and nothing else in my world has the ability to lift my heart and soul like making art does. I ...

Steven Fleit - I am a self taught artist. I have been painting for over twenty years and approximately four years ago I declared myself an Artist in the professional sense. Prior to my declaration as an artist, I built a portfolio of thematic collections. I started with Caribbean tropical paintings. I have expanded my subject matter to, Vineyard, architectural reflection, and travel sight e.g. Venice Series paintings. When I felt that I had put together a substative portfolio, I identified as an artist. I am serious about my craft and I hope you enjoy viewing my work. Thank you....

Harris Gulko - Rather than giving technical details concerning my paintings, I take the liberty to convey, in fewer than 150 words, the philosophy of life that influences all my paintings. My artwork cuts across artistic barriers, displaying many themes landscapes, seascapes, cloud formations, abstracts, childhood games, religious compositions and more. If there is one constant in my work, it is my inconsistency When I am at my easel I try to create on canvas what I am seeing. But often I go off on a tangent, and what ends up often bears little resemblance to what I was attempting to paint. My formula for success consists of ambition, drive, hard work, effort, energy, fear of failure, patience, perspiration and persistence. Life and love are made of time. Privileged those who find love in time. Wise those who express love, before life runs out of time....

Vishal Gurjar - I am Vishal gurjar artist born in Rajasthan, India 1992. I live in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Jodhpur is known for its rich heritage and lavish culture and traditions. In my family, my grandfather was an artist and my two uncles. So from childhood till now, I brought up in that culture. I learned paintings from my grandfather. He passed away but his education is still alive in me. Being an artisan, painter and sketch creator from last 10 years I found the art of painting and sketching so mesmerizing and rejuvenating. In this journey of 10 years, I have been awarded by more than 5 prestigious awards and got the recognition across the state. I am honored to be the purveyor of that art which has the perfect blend of pictorial depiction....

Walther Von Krenner - Before I studied in Asia, Picasso and Gauguin had a great influence on my thinking. Later I admired the ideas and importance of Pollocks action painting. At this point in my journey Liu Kuo Sung, Chang Dai Chien, Fu Baoshi and Zao Wuki artists mostly unknown to the average Westener have had a great influence on my work. I am attempting to synthesize the style and spirit of their work into a new style with the same power, energy and feeling without copying their work or trying to repeat something that has been done already. ...

Pol Ledent ...

Scott Brown - The world is filled with visual excitement. When I am receptive to that excitement, a work of art is born. Then it becomes a matter of fleshing it out on paper. If I am sucessful the viewer will feel that initial excitement I felt. In a sense, the artist is a reporter of feelings. Digital Collection. Recently I started creating digital artwork. All works in the Digital Collection can be resized to any multiple of 8.5 inches by 11 inches horizontal landscape or vertical portrait orientation. After purchasing the artwork, you must inform me of the size you desire and contact information of the printer you would like to use. I will send the printer the corresponding file. ...

David Bechtol - Photography is an integral part of my life. Each image captured attempts to take the viewer on a journey, to transport them to that place of wonder and grandeur as I experienced it, to feel the sense of awe, beauty and peacefulness. As a boy growing up in rural Michigan, I had many chances to take long, slow walks in the forest, soaking in all the beauty a child sees in nature. Now I use photography to slow down life and try to take in all that nature has to offer as I once did those many years ago. I am a self-taught photographer and have studied the photographic process for over 40 years. My interest includes the digital realm where my technical background lets me exploit all that the camera can capture. Throughout my travels, I try to bring back and share a vision of some of the awe-inspiring vistas I encounter. No matter where you are in the world, natures extraordinary beauty is around every corner. I believe that great images are always around us. They are ours to capture with our vision and share with the world. ...

Roz Zinns - Roz Zinns has been involved in art for the last 40 years, from oil painting to weaving to contemporary art quilts. Her work has been displayed nationally and has been reproduced in US and international publications. She majored in Arts Administration and owned a San Francisco gallery specializing in original art and quality artisan crafts. Recently she has come full-circle, back to painting, and is enjoying the creativity and challenge of working in acrylics and water-immersible oils She has always had a love of the land which is evident in her work. Although she is currently focusing on landscapes, she is finding that the compositional element of land in an urban environment has become a fascinating study for her. She also loves to travel and has been interpreting her images on to canvas. She has observed that over the years many of the places she has painted either don't exist anymore or have changed drastically in their usage or appearance. So how wonderful to have captured them as they existed, but with her own interpretation....
