Artists Describing Their Art:

Vladimir Volosov - I was born in 1937 in Leningrad, USSR (now St. Petersburg, Russia). My way to art was a lengthy one. Before becoming an artist, I studied for thirty years at the forefront of modern physics as a PhD scientist and professor, author more than 150 scientific articles in contemporary laser physics. Thirty years of strenuous scientific work on the front edge of modern physics gives me a deep feeling for the anxiety and unprotectedness of the world's beauty. The formula, "beauty saves the world" fits my own attitude. My creed is also embodied in the statement: "to have time to realize everything given to you by Nature." At the threshold of my fifties, I decided to live one more life, a new, alluring life of the free artist. I walked away from my established scientific career and completely devoted myself to painting. In 1991 I founded and headed the association "Light, Color and Art" to connect with scientists engaged in the arts. The main directions of my paintings are lyrical realism and abstract compositions. My paintings are about light, color, atmosphere and space. For me, the most important elements are light and color and their juxtaposition/nexus/meeting of...

Wojtek Kowalski - I am a self-taught person. ... My paintings rise from an internal need. I find inspiration in peace and quiet , by observing nature and people. My works show my own vision of the world. By using colours and simple forms I convey feelings and emotions as well as dreams and fantasies. Ideas spring to my mind when nothing happens around me. I am guided by my own sense of beauty and aesthetics. ...

Sowjanya Tirunagari - I am an emerging artist, mostly self taught. I have had great passion for art since my childhood. At this time of my life journey I have the desire to take my passion to a more professional level. Every art and every style inspires me. I love how the vibrant colors talk to each other and want to experiment with different styles of art. I am also a big nature lover and most of my art is trying to capture the beauty of it. Coming from a rich cultural background I also like to showcase it through my art. This is my first step towards advancing to the next level in my art journey. I hope you all will encourage me....

Mimi Revencu - The Mirabilism Manifesto Art these days most often reflects alienation, desperation, violence, loneliness, old age and death. But art is a dynamic field, always looking to rediscover and reinvent itself. It is time to express something new in art, something related to our deep essence, universal and optimistic, separated from the daily madness. It is time for the artist to call for a change of attitude and spirit, bringing to life the present and not only reflecting the world around. I believe that art in general is meant to be perceived as inside vibration. And Mirabilis is pure inner vibration at its best. The Mirabilis artist depicts impressions and mental images that do not pass through the filter of a mental process. They are rather the product of his instincts. The images are featuring bright colours, lots of green hues and pink, no grays tones and almost no use of black paint. Colours are applied side-by-side with as little mixing as possible, creating a simplified, vibrant surface. Objects and beings are mostly flat but they are disposed in different layers and transparency of thin paint films is used in order to obtain deepness of space. There are surfaces...

Guy Octaaf Moreaux - "A painter is a collector, he makes his own collection" "Un peintre es un collectioneur, il fait sa propre collection" "Un pintor es un coleccionista, hace su propria coleccion" Pablo Picasso. Having lived in North and South America and in northern and southern Europe, I picked up bits of cultures all over. During my stay in California I first came into contact with asian art and philosophy which would leave a lasting mark on me. The influence from Asia was reinforced in Argentina where I took classes of japanese painting with Cristina Ishikawa. Except for these classes and some drawing classes I am an autodidact. The most gratifying moments in painting are those when all of a sudden you get a kick out of an "accident", something not planned which fits the painting just perfectly. The intuition is at work and surprises the rational mind. Sometimes the painting overtakes your will and dictates colors, forms or nuances which were never thought of....

Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Than, I had personal exhibitions in Rochehaut (Galerie La Potele), in Dinant (Galerie L'impression), in Paris (Rive Gauche Galerie Artimus) in Brussels (Galerie G-Loft).In 2004, I had three exhibitions, again In Rochehaut, galerie La Potele in May. Then, in September Exhibition Libr'art in Libramont. In November, Galerie Impression in Dinant. What people like most in my paintings are the colours. My art doesn't speak to the intellect but to the soul and to the feelings. Talink the risk to seem old fashioned , I would say it is rather romantic. I wish you much pleasure looking at my paintings. Pol Ledent ...

Jill Sneidman - aEURoeEvery other artist begins with a blank canvas, a piece of paperaEUR|the photographer begins with a finished product.aEUR Edward Steichen I first discovered my passion for photography while living in San Francisco, photographing at the Conservatory of Flowers. Ever since that time, I have been following my dreams traveling around the world photographing incredible scenes along my journey. Slot canyons, bridges and arches are among my favorite scenes to photograph. I also have a love for lake scenes and waterfalls. I enjoy bringing tranquility and serenity to my photographs. Colors can turn magical and shadows may seem mystical. The scene always has a story to be told. My intent is to bring this story to you in a photograph that hopefully conveys a sense of beauty from the mood and emotion that Mother Nature displayed on that given day. Jill Sneidman ...
