Artists Describing Their Art:
Edmond Gjikopulli - Artistic statement Like a film fragment standing daily before our eyes, a film where we feel being at the same time viewers and actors, Albania of the years 2000 is obsessed by a consumerist fever, from the beginning of another system of references, which nevertheless, unable to substitute entirely the old one and matching everyday with him, is aiming to reach a much dreamed Eldorado. We experience around us a strong loging for consume, a loging which gradually is transforming our psyche and our system of values, but that nevertheless hasn't been able to reach the essence of what is original, "exotic", interesting and sincere. These are moments that I see everyday, people that I know, people living the everyday poetic and prosaic moments of existence, people anonymous and real in the capitalist Albania of the years 2000. We participate in this fairytale since fifteen years, with absurd scenes, tragicomic, kind and painful, grotesques and unique, which at the same time are the features of the new Albanian identity of these last years. Witnessing everyday this transformation is difficult not to be stimulated by these signals which are found everywhere, you can't keep yourself by turning the head ...
Toni Milaqi - Toni Milaqi (contemporary artist ; albania, greece) When you want to fly, but you have no wings; when you want to give a great punch in the stomach of the authority, and you can't; when you want to change the world, but the only thing you do is to observe how prosaically utopian is this; when the coldly nights of winter, in a deep blue sky, you want to pee the Moon, and all you finally succeed is to make your self wet; when the dross of the socials and moralities have surrounded you: "The only thing you can do is to desire to swallow the sun, and to try, even if this seems unthinkable, to register the billions of its colors. This titanic act, which goes many times over the limits; which eats and burns the dust of prosaism, and fill your life with a great energy and lust for the exploring of this world, and uncountable combinations of colors, is that which can escape you to a heavenly world. And is so beautiful there! " I love being a painter, even that moment, when I feel how fatal is to meet reality through this filter. ...

Dana Zivanovits - Dana Zivanovits was born in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio and received his art training from the Columbus College of Art and Design (1978 to 1982). After art school, he went abroad for a year and studied the art of the old masters in London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Venice. Returning to his studio in Columbus to develop these influences into a new body of work, he then traveled to Mexico and studied the sculpture and painting of that country for an extended period. The unique and vivid colors of Palenque and Vera Cruz intensified his palette. After a period in Ohio, he then moved to Venice Beach, California where the brilliant light of the region reinforced his desire to capture effects of sunlight and atmosphere. Returning to Ohio in 1995, he has continued to paint themes deriving inspiration form sources such as world mythology, classic and B-grade cinema, literature and dreams. However his primary inspiration is direct observation from nature, versus an approach based in art theories or cultural critique. Dana has been widely represented by galleries and exhibition projects including Julie Rico and Mega Boom in Los Angeles, the Venice Art Detour, Around the Coyote Festival in Chicago ...

Koroleva-Prisyazhnaya Anastasia - We are all creators of our own soul. The basic style of my creativity i consider a "romantic" style. In this style those works are made, which are devoted to The Man and The Woman, to their relations : Their Love, Their Passion, Their Pain, Their Hatred ("She broke ", "When Love Goes ", "A Flower of Love" ). However, it is interesting for me to work with texture graphics- the main value of which is the complex, worked in details decor of a picture.("Fish", "A Forest Woman", "The Charming Courtesan"). The great respect i give to a principle of stylization, the idea should work especially creatively its frameworks ("Karabas-Barabas", "Duremar"). I began to learn the Art of Graphics being trained in architecture (1995-1998) and since then from a subject taught within the frameworks of the program of studing, it has turned to a subject of my passion which i cultivated from hobby to a business of my Life. Nevertheless, except graphics, i`m a professional make-up artist, it is my second profession. Working as a make-up artist i like to invent and to create too. Ussually, creative photoshootings and art-sessions are the result of this. By photoshootings ...
David Rocky Aguirre - ************** To me, Art seems to be a universal language. It can be used to portray something beautiful and uplifting, or to portray a tragedy to motivate and move people to act. To motivate them to help in some way as in Picasso's "Guernica 1937". I have a wide range in creative interests, from most forms of painting- oil to watercolor and on to print forms, sculpture, photography, film and computer animation. Sara Adrian - Iconic art, the symbols of alchemy and the mythology of culture has always held an interest for me. I use color and symbols combined with familiar imagery to talk about social issues and stereotypes. There are specific ideas that I present in my work, but I feel it's very important not to be too specific as I want the viewer to come to their own conclusions as to what my art is trying to say. My purpose is to make the viewer think about what they see and what they believe in, and create a dialogue. The media I use in painting is oil and acrylics mixed in with metallic substances, such as gold or aluminum leafing, iron oxide, or metallic tinted paint, combined with strong design and chroma. I want the work to react to the light changes in the environment, and be an active participant in the space. The strong color combined with the wood I prefer to paint on is to echo the medieval byzantine iconic painting of which I find much inspiration. It's important to me to combine aesthetic with content, and this is what I work to achieve. ...
