  • Artists Describing Their Art:

John Clark - I am a commissioned artist. I use the old name of Glasspainter for what I mostly do which is making stained glass windows for specific locations. I use this ancient medium holding mainly to the traditional techniques and seeing what I can create using them. I like work that endures. I work to a given brief or develop a brief with my clients to find a solution to a given design situation. Some of the projects I have undertaken have been on very difficult themes such as the Lockerbie Memorial and The Falklands War Memorial but many other works also, religious and non- religious. My clients are many and various from private individuals to companies. I work mainly in Europe but have recently begun widening my horizons. Work can be undertaken world-wide. I have constructed a huge web site under the domain name www.glasspainter.com and I hope that you will come and visit me there also. ...

Richard Wynne - Richard is an acclaimed International Artist recently returned to the USA. Richard has lived in many Countries. "The last being Thailland. He started his art studies at a very young age at the John Herron Art Institute In Indianapolis, Indiana and then later at the Art Institute of Chicago Richard has lived in many countries, painting, and playing music. Mr Wynne has exhibited in Thailand, the United States, Spain, Argentina, Kuwait, Korea, Ihdia, and other Countries. Sometimes perhaps I say too much about my self but maybe it helps people understand what motivates my work. For your information I've lived in 8 different countries and have been around the world 5 times. I speak a few different languages, some very well; others not so well. By the way I am not a workaholic as I don't consider what I do work. I enjoy life too much. I forgot to say I am also a weight lifter as lifting weights is my Zen. When I am troubled the concentration it takes to lift makes me calm. I guess my page will probably be a little different from what people expect. Sorry I have not been uploading new work as ...

Richard Wynne - Berit Nelson - My art reflects me; my ideas, my thoughts and my innermost struggles. As I go forth in life, I find inspiration everywhere.....in people, in places, in objects, but mostly in myself. What begins as an idea eventually grows into art, however I have discovered over the years that it is the process of getting there that I enjoy the most! My photography on the other hand, is another story. I enjoy taking pictures immensely and I have a good eye for it, and my real inspiration comes from that and that alone. I like seeing the final prints and remembering the journey I got to go on to get them! Sometimes the journey takes me far from home and other times I barely get out of the door but no matter where I end up, I usually find something beautiful to take a picture of!...

Jerry Di Falco - Photography inspires my art and acts as a vital element in my etchings. The images I employ originate from my own photographs, as well as from the images I find from my research into the digital archives of universities, historical societies, libraries, and museums. Upon locating a documented scene I wish to etch, my first step involves the execution of two to five original drawings of the photograph. My collaboration between photography and printmaking allows me the independence to integrate my personal interpretations into the scene. Moreover, I create bridges between the physical and metaphysical visual realities in the same way that a camera intersects with human creativity . . . the nexus between the mechanical and the cerebral art tools. Art unveils everything that we mask behind our belief systems conversely, I strive in my creations to clarify those phenomena we overlook as a result of our egocentric assumptions. Ironically enough, I blame this failure to notice things, a process I label, the phenomenology of connectedness, on todayaEURtms very infatuation with and addiction to the new communicational technologies of social media. My artworks therefore become like windows through which to examine the mysteries of aEURoeeveryday consciousnessaEUR. In fact, my use of ...

Denise Dalzell - Painting. Illustration. Expressionism. Pop Art. Modern. Realism and, occasionally, a bit of Abstraction. My current work centers on my consideration of how we respond to each other, the stories that develop between us and around us, and how our collective stories reflect on and influence us individually. How our stories bounce off each other and combine to create new stories. My paintings are illustrations of the scenes that I encounter during my travels abroad and in daily life so, some scenes are more sweeping than others. How do we, as people of differing backgrounds, cultures, and experiences interact with each other Are we different people in a crowd than when alone How do we fit in or stand out where we find ourselves at any given moment, in any given story Stories are everywhere, and thereaEURtms no predicting what theyaEURtmll reveal. Body language, movement, color, contrast combine to illustrate my scenes of interaction between people and within environments. The excitement of being a part of something as unifying as a protest, the sense of adventure that comes from starting out with no particular destination, intimate moments with those we love and those we discover in the big events...

Jean Judd - Every quilt tells a story and every quilt is unique. The common factor in all quilts is that fabric and thread are used to create a piece of art. To many viewers, cutting up perfectly good pieces of fabric into little pieces and then sewing them together again into a totally different looking piece of fabric, is unbelievable. Who would want to do this day in and day out The dedicated quilt artist and fabric collector I have always enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together and the same person who enjoys jigsaw puzzles discovering a finished masterpiece constructed of hundreds or even thousands of little pieces is drawn to the magic of quilt design. Each quilt design is a puzzle waiting to be put together. The design starts in the quilt artists mind and is eventually transferred into reality with the final stitch in the quilt. Many times the original design is nothing like the finished quilt but this just adds to the excitement and the design potential for the next quilt design. What starts in the mind is often transformed into a bigger, better and more dramatic finished quilt than the artist ever imagined. I prefer to make my own ...

Denis Taylor - I was born in an industrial town in the North West of England, where Art was not high on the careers list of most people. Fortune smiled on me when my junior art teacher advised my family to enrol me on a scholarship to the Manchester High School of Art when I was eleven years old. That set my life-path as a painter. After graduation from college I launched myself into the exiting world of creative advertising of theA 1970s. But after a number of disillusioned years in and out of that and other industries, fate led me to create a design company of my own. The company became very successful and I guess I could have continued enjoying an ever increasing recognised position in English society. Yet painting was always tugging on my arm. ByA 1986A it became clear to me that I could not resist the pull of Art any longer and sold my company, packed my belongings into a van and drove to an isolated Greek island where I could once again practice fine art on a full time and serious basis. In lateA 1988A I travelled to NYC attracted by the Citys high standing in ...

Denis Taylor - Michael Ashcraft - I am a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute. My work reflects the symbolic metaphors in the world around me. I spend a lot of time finding the right physical objects or settings to build the statements I wish to express. I may spend months or even years with an idea before I ever touch a canvas or piece of paper. Once I begin I let the painting dictate its own style. Only the painting can tell me when it is finished. I will usually set them aside for a long time before I come back and decide if they are truly finished or need more work. I hope you enjoy them....

Harry Weisburd - Harry Weisburd is an Internationally Represented Artist, including, USA, Expressions Gallery, Berkeley, California,
