Artists Describing Their Art:

Jerry Di Falco - Photography inspires my art and acts as a vital element in my etchings. The images I employ originate from my own photographs, as well as from the images I find from my research into the digital archives of universities, historical societies, libraries, and museums. Upon locating a documented scene I wish to etch, my first step involves the execution of two to five original drawings of the photograph. My collaboration between photography and printmaking allows me the independence to integrate my personal interpretations into the scene. Moreover, I create bridges between the physical and metaphysical visual realities in the same way that a camera intersects with human creativity . . . the nexus between the mechanical and the cerebral art tools. Art unveils everything that we mask behind our belief systems conversely, I strive in my creations to clarify those phenomena we overlook as a result of our egocentric assumptions. Ironically enough, I blame this failure to notice things, a process I label, the phenomenology of connectedness, on todayaEURtms very infatuation with and addiction to the new communicational technologies of social media. My artworks therefore become like windows through which to examine the mysteries of aEURoeeveryday consciousnessaEUR. In fact, my use of ...

Please click on an image to enlarge it and bring up further details about the piece of art and a description or story about it. Once you have done this, you may also click on zoom-in, a function, which may or may not work. There are presently a total of about 270 pieces of my art to be viewed. Most are oil paintings, and the rest are charcoal and pencil drawings, watercolors, prints, etc. Please ignore the computer-generated words, REQUEST PRICE. Lynda Lehmann - I have participated in numerous juried shows and had solo shows of my paintings. Ive sold my photography and digital art online, in galleries and other real-time venues, although I am currently marketing my work primarily online. My stock art sells well and Ive sold at least 2400 images in that venue. Life events had steered me away from painting but I am jumping back into that part of my process and hope to have new paintings online within the next few months. OTHER STUFF My painting Bibliophiles Dream has been featured on the cover of the Insights Journal of Austin Seminary. My paining Damariscotta Dream has been used for the cover of Chuck Sweetmans poetry chapbook published by Dream Horse Press. My image Enchanted Forest was used by the Sierra Club in their online feature Daily Ray of Hope. The Yellow Door has been published in Long Islands Canvas Magazine. I was a featured artist at Imagekind in July and have been featured from time to time on my other sites as well. February 1 - 28, 2009 - Metrimorphic III featuring new abstract paintings combining biomorphic and geometric elements, Harborfields Library, Greenlawn, NY. Due to time constraints I will ...

Lynda Lehmann - Ronnie Caplan - Presented in a myriad of mixed medias and emotions, with modish subjects and series, my work ultimately evokes poignant ruminations on art in the streets, with new portrayals of hackneyed tourismo topics, found rhapsodies in the everyday mundane scenes, and, by looking ever so closely, finding buried beauty and covert charm where no one is used to seeing it. Composition and color play a large part in unearthing the esoteric appeal and symmetry to be found in atypical urban and landscapes . . . ...

John Cielukowski - I focus on painting what interests and fascinates me. I also try to promote awareness of animal welfare issues through my paintings. I donate my work to local and national animal welfare and environmental organizations for their fundraising efforts. I received my BA in Fine Arts from Montclair University in New Jersey. I also studied at the School of Visual Arts SVA and The Art Students League in New York City. I am a founding member and board member of the Studios of Cocoa Beach, Florida. I am also an active member of the Central Brevard Art Association, located in Rockledge, Florida. ...

Melcha C - Artistic approach My paintings reflect pieces of collective intimate memory inspired by pop art retro music. Ii?1/2m also painting live nude contemporary models where the colors and movements live along. Collection My paintings are spread through many private collections in USA New-York, California, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Georgia, in India, in Belgique, in Montreal in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area ...

Michele Starzec Ducharme - Raised in the countryside of Connecticut, illustrator Michele Starzec-Ducharme, earned her BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University. A love of home & garden, history, and nature influence her choices in subject matter. Michele combines a variety of traditional media, including gouache, colored pencil, and pen & ink, in each piece of artwork. Michele produces art out of her home in Colchester. ...

Michele Starzec Ducharme - Mark Charles Fox - Photography has often had an identity problem. Over its nearly 200 years, it has won sometimes grudging and other times enthusiastic cultural acceptance. Today, everyone is a photographer. In my view, what I am is an image manipulator. Image manipulating is a daily yoga, I do it for the intrinsically meditative state it induces. In college, oops too late, at the end of my thesis preparation I realized what I should have been doing all along, studying iconography, how we might share wonder and convey the ineffable. This is part of my motivation and a hoped-for result of these externalized meditations. During the past decade or more, IaEURtmve engaged in image manipulating in a dedicated way and have created thousands of them. Each one starts with a photo I have taken and IaEURtmll begin to imagine transforming its shapes and colors. There are just a few rules for instance, never cut and paste, nor combine source images into one, work with one at a time. My preferences extend to the most spaced-out looking images, but I also do ones that might be called aEURoecontemporarily traditionalaEUR. Earlier on, it was all about experimentation, working an image until ...

Lauren Shae Morganstein - My art has become an important outlet that has enabled me to capture the stereotypical ideals that have been flooded through the veins of marketing and crammed down the throats of my generation. I began to use those ideals in a somewhat satirical way, capturing and even playing the roles of the 1950's stereotypical woman in an attempt to better understand her. My work began to take on a more satirical force as I dove further into the "Holly Housewife" role. Smiling depiction of yesterdays woman who required a daily done of "mothers little helper" in order to perform her duties. My work toys with audience at times, as the reality gets doused with fantasy and dotting duties in attempt to make people think, to wonder & even imagine the real story behind the image....
