Afrika Abney - I became a professional visual art consultant while I was a student attending Bell Multicultural High School. I participated in the Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Nortons Congressional Art Competition in 1992 and 1993. During this time, I also had other opportunities where I was able to provide my services. These opportunities allowed me to utilize my formal training and education in the visual arts component to offer and provide services to companies, small businesses, individuals and other places. I have successfully implemented numerous creative strategies using my abstract art and background in the visual arts to achieve excellent creative campaigns for each individual event that I have provided services as a professional visual art consultant. aEUR< aEUR
Delroy Russell - I create art as therapy for my self, and with a great hope that my creations will affect the viewer with total recall of the glory of the human being, and the breathtaking beauty of our planet. My ultimate goal is to awaken our inherent love of art and the power it has to create by itself something tangible yet spiritual. A force being able to create a paradigm shift towards a positive direction. My desire is to apply harmonious elements in a subtle proportionate degree so as to evoke or awaken from the viewer his or her inherent understanding and acknowledgement of the therapeutic beauty in art. I make informed decisions as to what I must paint, according to interaction with my social groups, becoming sensitive to needs of people, trends and social tensions, and the awakening of cultural ideology. I use certain materials like acrylic paint that is versatile, and can adapt to my painting style, also collage and graphite according to what I need to be expressed. Margaret Thompson - Nothing is what it seems. I am fascinated by the mystery and ambiguity that can come from working with collaged painted papers, and multi-plate printmaking. The initial layering process is usually one of spontaneity and serendipity, and, only later, when the painting starts to take on a life of its own, do I think more consciously about its meaning, the composition, its form and colour. The title is only one way in to reading my pictures, and is merely a proposal: the most interesting aspect to me is what the viewer brings to the understanding of the work.I have a great admiration for Kurt Schwitters, the master of collage, Helen Frankenthaler, master of colour and subtlety, Kandinsky and Miro.
