In Finnish folklore cuckoo is the bringer of the summer. In Finno-Baltic mythology daughter of the moon weaves the web of human lives. She cries and from her tears three rivers are born. Three hills rises from those three rivers. Three birch trees to these hills and each one of them has cuckoo sitting on the top. Legend tells that people who came across these trees were allowed to hear their destinies from the cuckoos. But only fools did this because wisest know that your destiny is what you make of it.
